From Bash to Z Shell is taking over my life

From Bash to Z Shell Evil Evil book - it's like the Ring in the Lord of the Rings.  All I want to do is type command line prompts.  Must stop myself but I think it's too late - it's already taken over....  Must get back to my GUI - must resist.

I'm scared to open the thing because every time I do I'm hopping on the laptop and jamming away.  Then i want to do something else.  Then something else.  Then i realize that the matrix is real and that the dumbass that created the Matrix forgot to put an exit condition on this recursive loop he got me into.

This is a  totally neat idea for a book - and damn - the commandline gets addictive quickly.  And people with uber-addictive personalities don't need addictive things in their lives - especially ones with redeeming value.  Can't wait to get back to my place so I can go Bashing on a few of the other machines......

I will have to check this out. I am a total command-line and keyboard freak as it is. Coming up in my tech career managing a Novell 4.11 and HP-UX network, I learned to love the command line and never let go.

Scott- it's seriously worse than a crack addiction - I used the command line occassionally but the more I run through it the more I love it. The book kicks a33 too - right from the get go it hits the ground running - I guess they assume that the people that buy the book in the first place are command line junkies.

I don't think I'll ever be using Windows Explorer again on GP.

Scott "Novell 4.11" - uuug! the govt still uses this on their networks.
