I am a frequent public speaker on diverse topics including e-commerce fraud, spyware, blogging (and its death), and community development. Extensively interviewed or published in a wide variety of media including Baron’s Financial Times, Forbes, New York Times, Playboy, Mercury News, Entrepreneur, Revenue Magazine etc. Other work includes the SpywareGuide.com property, the EULA Analyzer concept, and the honor of having worked with and helped put together a global blogging team recognized for unraveling some of the most complex security cases in recent history including the Orkut Worm, KMeth Worm, SpazBox IRC Puzzle.

Founder of Meme Science a boutique focused on online video analysis, metrics, net agents and experimental work in alternate metaverses such as Second Life.
Prior to the acquisition of XBlock by Facetime in 2005, I served as CEO and co-founder, with colleague Jan Hertsens, where we started asa specialized security research firm. We developed two patent pending systems using an automated “codeless” system among other neat security concepts and lots of security evangelism.
I received, in 2006-2007, and 2007-2008, the Microsoft Security MVP designation. In addition I was named by Google on their responsible security disclosure micro-site for work in security.
In 2005, received a Pinnacle Legend Award for contributions and innovation in performance marketing. Yes, it was renamed in my honor. I don’t know why- I am not really legendary, I have just been around a long time.
In 2004, I served as an expert panelist along side delegates from Microsoft, AT&T, WebRoot and MIT on the FTC Spyware Workshop to help address the growing problem spyware and rogue distribution practices.
In 2003, I organized and chaired the New York Performance Marketing Summit at the Yale Club bringing together key industry leaders and leading advertising firms to open up talks that helped industry produce a nascent Code of Conduct. It did not meet my expectations.
In 2002, I provided funding and assisted as a creative consultant for the award winning film, Nothing So Strange, (Unsharp Mask, LLC) produced by GMD Studios. The film received critical praise from major press, as well as garnering the New York Times Claiborne Pell Award for Original Vision. It was also the first film embracing the “open source” concept and self distributed.
