Thank you for linking to the Microsoft article. Towards which virtualization tool do you see the industry trending? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm torn between VMWare and Microsoft.

Other option is to edit a file.

* Open "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway\UI_HTMLs\TabsHandler\TabsHandler.htc"

* Search for the 3 lines which contain "paddingTop", and remark-out each of them by adding "//" in the begining.

Example: Change the line:

m_aPages [niPage].m_tdMain.style.paddingTop = ((m_nBoostUp < 0) ? -m_nBoostUp : 0) ;

into:

// m_aPages [niPage].m_tdMain.style.paddingTop = ((m_nBoostUp < 0) ? -m_nBoostUp : 0) ;

* Save the file, and re-open TMG management console.

AFter that TMG will work in IE9

Hi,

Just wanted to say this is a great post and exactly what i needed.

I just wanted to add that I also did not need the registry change above as it worked with just the changes up to that point, is it possible an update to either DPM or TMG has made it no longer required?

I will also have a play and see if the RPC application filtering change is required on our implementation.

It prompted me to reboot the server after applying this update on top of TMG 2010 SP1 Standard which running on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1.

I can confirm the problem on HP ProBook 6560b, too.

(Win7 64bit)

I used Process Monitor to detect the problem.

HP support confirmed the problem.

I can confirm this for my new HP 4530s: CPU stalled regularly (every 30 seconds) for about 70 ms. Isolated the problem with the help of a neat little tool called "DPC Latency Checker".

I agree with Marc, the kb article states that rollup 1, 2 and 3 are included in rollup 4, just remember to install sp1 and sp1 update 1!

From rollup 4 kb:

"To install this update, you must be running Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG) 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1). Additionally, you must have Software Update 1 for Forefront TMG 2010 SP1 installed. This Rollup includes all fixes which had been addressed in TMG Software Update 1 Rollup 1, Rollup 2 and Rollup 3."

You need to install each Rollup in the right order. When you install SP1 Rollup 4 without you have installed the past rollups, your TMG installtion will be inconsistent.
