The Original "24" Pilot from 1994

I don't usually post non-technical stuff here but this was worth it. If you're a 24 fan and a geek I think you'll enjoy this.

What is ALT.NET?

ALT.NET has been getting a lot of play on blogosphere these days but a lot of people are still unclear on what it really is. In an interview by Wally McClure on the ASP.NET Podcast, David Laribee gives a great explanation of the origins of the movement and the direction it's taking for the future.

For those of you in the Toronto area who are interested in exporing the topic further I suggest you come on out the Metro Toronto .NET User Group on November 20 to hear Donald Belcham discuss "Developing with the Alt.NET Mentality".

Using Custom Business Objects with Windows Communication Foundation on the Visual Basic Community Site

An article/walktrough I wrote on Using Custom Business Objects with Windows Communication Foundation has been posted to the Visual Basic Community Site.

In my previous article, Getting Started with Windows Communication Foundation, I described the basics of creating and consuming a simple WCF service. The services demonstrated used simple types like numbers and strings but most real world applications use more complex data like customers and invoices. In this article I’ll demonstrate how to work with these custom business objects in WCF.

The complete article is available at:

A Chicken Reviews the Toronto SharePoint Camp - Seriously

I really don't know what to say about this so I will leave it up to you to judge. I do have one warning - the illusion, so skillfully done early in the video, is shattered near the end. You may want to have your children leave the room while you watch this.
