J - I'm with you man - spread the word - but the .NET General newsgroup probably isn't the best place to do it - nor is spamming people -I think this sort of stuff does more damage than good - but oh well.

Isn't spamming illegal? If it isn't I guess they're getting that one out before it is.

Spamming for Jesus is a lot like Stealing for Jesus or Murdering for Jesus. The saying "Hell is paved with good intentions" seems to fit in this situation too. I personally don't see how something wrong can somehow be okay because of the message. Luckily it isn't "Murder for Jesus" but I question the ethics of someone who uses something even borderline annoying/illegal for some positive gain (regardless of what the message is or if I believe in it or not).

Somehow I just don't think that was received the way it could have been, but who knows. Maybe it helped one person out but it seems like the wrong approach to me.

lol - I don't need to pretend to be cold man, I'm just as cold if not colder than our leader KC ("na-na-na-na leader" - Homer). It's about 10 F here today and probably near 0 with the wind chill...as for the mailboxes, I will have to find a few on the way home tonight :)

this almost got me in trouble at a meeting. i've gotten the xtian spam before ... i'm thinking that earns the sender a straight ticket to hell. not that i believe in hell ... but just in case i'm wrong and he's right :)

Great leader appears to be freezing his b4lls off and I can not help but feel guilty b/c it's sunbathing weather down here and you appear to not be getting it too bad either.

I think the main difference between a cult and a posse/crew (yo!) is that a cult worships someone, something, or a deity(s).

Well Young Skicow = you're problem is that you have yet to find elightenment. We are not a cult - nor is BIll's Sycophant Cult even though it's called the "Sycophant Cult"

When you think about it, what's really the difference between a cult and a 'crew' or 'posse'? Not much.

With no disrespect to anyone - I'm intrigued with the link at the bottom to the webpage that identifies known 'cults'...isn't Catholicism a cult as well?

So what makes Catholicism NOT a cult?

Sounds like all religions are cults to me.
