There's always more to something that meets the eye. I got the sense that Jeremy wasn't necessarily given us the whole beef, or at least romanticising it to make more entertaining reading. And that fella Paul seemed to be calling it how he saw it. But then you learn there's history, or this, or that... or the other.

All of a sudden that pinch of salt seems pretty handy.

Why are there trolls like that "paul?" There are always people who want to play "blame the victim."

I came across an interesting parable on a message board which had been whining about a forum I like a lot (and spend way too much time at http://www.joelonsoftware.com/ , btw).

The parable (by someone called "dryfly") is:
Two maggots are riding on a manure wagon. The wagon rolls over a bump and tosses both maggots off...

One maggot falls on to stoney ground and struggles and struggles but unable to find nurishment, it stays a skinny starving maggot until it dies...

The other maggot falls on a big fat horses apple. It pigs out, grows fat and turns into a big beautiful housefly and flies away. Later in life the fly tells everyone that will listen that it attributes its success to hard work and superior moral character.

There are times in history when the manure wagon drives by rock quarries (all barren stoney ground) and times when it drives by animal feedlots (knee deep s**t) and a lot in between... But we as 'maggots' have no choice when and where we are thrown off the manure wagon...

Yeah... trolls are funny that way - an innate talent for inciting rage in people they don't know. If only their powers could be used for good...

Urrghh those comments make me sick to my stomach.

I can't comment on who is justified as clearly his boss was looking for an excuse to get rid of him, but I must say that the comments made by Paul Mooney are completely non-challant, baseless and clearly denigrating to a guy's situation he knows nothing about. Even if he did know all about his situation, it still wouldn't be justified.

Yes I find it annoying too.
