Totally cool product

One of my favorite products in recent memory is WIX .  No matter how bad my day is going, I can go home, write a Wix installer and feel good about myself. It's that same sort of smugness that you get from spending a day at work and not touching a GUI interface.  Well, Wix actually provides even more of that b/c there's absolutely, positively no way to use it without really understanding it. It's fussy.  It's thorough. It can do damn near anything. And if a coworker comes by , you can always look smart by explaining what your kick a55 Wix package is doing.  I mean, where else can you look like a pimp by simply saying "So yah, it pops up a dialog box and then returns the value the user entered.

I say all of this somewhat tongue in cheek but there's a grain of truth to it.  The serious parts are that you can do just about anything with it, and that you have to really understand what it does to use it.  If you want to use WIX, there's no substitute for learning it. However,    Wixaware product just defies words as far as coolness.  I can't really tell what the learning curve is for someone with no knowledge of Wix, but I'm pretty sure that it provides the exception to the "You must know it" rule. And you can get up and running with it pretty quickly. Moreoever, if you don't know WIx, you can use it to accomplish what you want, and then learn from deconstructing the output.  I just learned about it in this month's MSDN, but after one day, I'm in love and if you use Wix, I'm guessing you'll be too.
