Fun in Greenville
This weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting a bunch of folks over at Chris William's house , as well as his wonderful family. All the time I lived in Greenville and Spartanburg, I never really knew there was 'the mountains'. Not only did I never really see them from where I was, I never even knew they existed. So after trekking up some windy roads, I arrived at the Williams Residence and it was very cool. Perhaps one of the coolest houses I've been in a while. Killer view, neat place. Chris has the downstairs to himself and has it decked out in RPG stuff, computers and computer books. The familar was wonderful and I got to watch his two boys kick some a33 on the Godzilla game. I love Godzilla stuff.
Unfortunatley I got there late and missed a bunch of people. Chris obviously made quite a few friends, many fellow developers from Greenville .NET Developer's Guild/. Would have been great catching up with all of them but that's what I get for being directionally challenged and showing up late.
And I got the update on Greenville Code Camp. It's still on. Our good buddy Paul Waters is going to be heading the search committee for a place to hold it. Paul has always been good at finding places and from what Chris and everyone is telling me, not only is it a go, but it should be quite an event. We gotta talk to Doug Turnure to nail down a few things and hopefully he can get some of the Atlanta guys to head up for the weekend.
