Published 28 December 5 10:28 PM | William
I was at a major Best Buy today and got a great idea for a movie. It's called Geek Squad. Basically, I'd take the same storyline as Oz but all the villians would be members of a group known as the Geek Squad. All the new guys that come into the prison...

Was just checking through the referrers and saw a link from Julia's other blog . I've been a big Julia Lerman since I first misspelled her name , plain and simply put, she rocks. She's got a great article on DevLife and well, I couldn't agree more. Anyway...

What am I missing about the Wikipedia 'scandal'
Published 17 December 5 11:19 PM | William
If you haven't heard about it yet (and probably everyone has), a gag entry was put into Wikipedia and it caused a huge scandal . H3ll, it even made /. I'm not sure I really follow what the problem is. Is it that the dude was slandered/libelled? Or was...

Sahil goes big time.
Published 17 December 5 10:57 PM | William
Well I knew it was coming for a while, but all I can say is it couldn't happen to a more deserving guy . Congrats Sahil . If they're half as good as good as his book that's resplendent in every way, they'll be a must have for any serious ADO.NET developer...

Handling Connection Strings
Published 15 December 5 3:44 PM | William
This issue comes up periodically in the newsgroups and I figured I'd address it so I can just point back to it in the future. In essence, the question comes up "Should I use app/web.config files to store connection strings or should I hard code it in...

New Gmail Annoyance

B1tching about something that's free is the ultimate looking a gift horse in the mouth, but there's a new Gmail annoyance that's driving me nuts. The new adsense that sits in the header section of the gmail grid is normally inobtrusive and well placed...

Question about Unit Testing
Published 10 December 5 8:28 AM | William
I got on a little late when it comes to unit testing, but I'm definitely sold on it. However I came across something unexpected the other day and it threw me for a loop. I'm curious to see how other people handle the issue. In the past, I basically wrote...

If you see flames in Jackson
Published 4 December 5 11:59 AM | William
It's probably my failed attempt at wiring the crib for VOIP . I agree, the biggest problem with VOIP is that you can't use your jacks. This is pretty easy to work around inasmuch as cordless phones with multiple adapters are cheap, and now, just about...

Please note that this is my personal blog and the opinions expressed are my own. Also, comment moderation is about one of the least important things in my life so please keep that in mind. I can't vouch for the authenticity of any of the posters so please don't hold me accountable. And whatever you do, don't pretend to be Noted Option Strict Off expert and AspFriend Charles Mark Carroll when you post. Doing so will lead him to become apoplectic and write absurd accusatory posts about me that are as coherent and thought out as they are factually correct. He does a stellar job proving his reputation is well deserved and he doesn't need any help from you making himself look foolish. If I have to listen to him banging his spoon off of his high chair one more time, I'm going to burst into flames so please don't make that happen!
