One of Tobin's most brilliant moments

Published Fri, Jul 22 2005 20:05 | William

Tobin's latest idea  on creating JAXASS is brilliant. There's some wank action going on trying to get it deleted over here but I'm all for it.  Just check this out:

-----------------------------------------------

This should soon be followed up by the Farcical Ubiquitous Containment  (FUC) specification which is intended to define a way to entrap marketing/propaganda forever in a state-of-absurdity queue that is never read from.  I hope to reduce this process to a single line of code:

FUC.Queue("AJAX");

------------------------------------------

Now I have to admit, when BJU finds out that one of their students (If you weren't aware, Greenville, SC is home of both F.U.   and B.J.U ) did something like this, they may not be pleased.  I mean, why is Queue a static method of the FUC Class?  Tobin created this, not Casey or Andy [although I'm sure we can count on their support]  But that's all irrelevant.  Help keep Jaxass going and help Tobin

Tobin and I share the same view of AJAX. I never knew what it was called we just do it so we don't have to make post backs. Then all this stupid @ss AJAX sh!t came out and I was reading about it and going "hey look a new technolo........wait a f#cking minute! That's what we have been doing for ages ever since Netscape supported it!". Then Tobin came out with his JAXASS post and I almost sh!t myself I laughed so hard. He should write a book........oh wait he has. Well he should write another one. Something along the lines of:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0201485362/102-2457553-7144965?v=glance

He's got a gift for humor he should profit from it.

I totally intend to play this out. Not just for laughs, but to improve the technology. Sure the name was made tongue-in-lightsocket, and the main intent is to show a certain jackass that he can't get away scott free with hijacking a technology for his own, but in the long run, there is headway to be made with this project. I've registered domain names and a project site will be forthcoming.

Andy: Yes, Tobin is very funny - he's a bad a55 programmer but his true gift is humor. That last post of his was priceless.

T: Ok, what are the Jackasses initials ;-) BTW, as you have already heard, that post was classic, you outdid yourself there ;-)

It's funny you should ask about his initials. His NAME is Jesse James Garret. Not only is he pretentious enough to call a 6-year old technology new, he also cristened himself "jjg", ala "esr" of much more significance. (Eric S Raymond, in case you are unaware.) He even made HIMSELF a topic on wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_James_Garrett)!!!
In any case, my website is now up and running. Please visit http://www.jaxass.net and let me know what you think.
