Biting my Style

One phrase I bet NO one has ever said is “Too bad there's only one Bill Ryan, we sure could use another one”.  Hell, I wouldn't even say that.  But my friend Roland Boon just pointed me to this guy ToastedRoasted.  Ok, there's a slight possibility that this guy isn't plagairizing my stuff (There's a slight possibility that George Bush will run for President of France too) but it's too slight to even consider.  Not sure I understand why someone is posting all my stuff as their own. If you need a personality, I can find a lot better people to copy. Hell, I'd copy Don Box or Chris Sells  ,  OptionsScalper or even Charles 'Able to do the work of 3 developers' Carroll - but me?  So what gives?  And what's this Toolblast Forum?

WTF?!? He's not changing a thing about your posts! Even the name of the post is exactly the same...it's like he's mirroring your blog to that forum!?!

weird...

Gives a pretty good argument as to the "Why?" question. You get rewarded with Hosting Coupons based on your posting. You do post quite a bit and at least daily, so I suppose they were using what they could to get what they could. It's sad that it's a complete rip-off but I'd feel a little flattered personally. I'd rather be the one with the hosting coupon though, since they didn't do a damn thing to earn it other than copy/paste your material. How weak.

I noticed that Bill had a post here on a blog that he found that happens to have the exact same content...

Bill,

I would contact the people at toolblast and let them know what's going on.

I tend to agree with skicow, but here's the kicker:

I think that toolblast.com wants traffic, or they wouldn't have this policy. By discussing them here, we've now acknowledged and raised awareness of their service (for bad or good purposes). This reinforces their behavior and validates the economic value of "coupons" and traffic. ToastedRoasted just found an easy shortcut in some form. If "to raise awareness of toolblast.com" was the goal, that has now been accomplished.

On the other hand, one cannot manage to stay in business with this perspective. Read this post by Brian Tinkler:
