Nice music selection (especially the Stabbing Westward). What? No Gravity Kills? And you need to throw up some more Prodigy ("Voodoo People" and "Climbatize")!

# William said on June 10, 2005 9:30 AM:

Sinead O'Conner? Let's replace her with some Rob Zombie or somthing.

Hey man - don't be dissing on Stabbing. They were before their time! I have every album (even the crappy ass poppy final one). Great live band, too. Just can't see them anymore... :)

Otherwise, I find your taste in music to be disturbing. Distubingly close to mine...

Sinead O' Freak out, Rap - out, Faith No More- IN

-e : I wasn't dissing Stabbing Westward. Their first album is friggin awesome. The second one wasn't quite as good but I still liked them. I just don't know too many other people that dig them and folks always bust my b4lls when I play the second CD - hence my disclaimer. ALso, if you have the same taste as me in anything, that's definitely a distrubing sign... you may need therapy as well ;-)

James - I'm with you 100%. I have every Prodigy album and love them. I just didn't have it all loaded on my Personal Media Center. This seems to be a popular post so I'll probably mix up another playlist and post it as well - which will have more Prodigy ;-)

Raymond - I agree that Sinead isn't that cool any more. However The Lion and the Cobra kicked ass... However Rob Zombie is the man for sure. NO disagreements there, and he's cooler than Sinead even when she didn't suck

Ted - Seems no one is feeling Sinead ... Probably need to adjust that. I have Faith No More's first album (not sure if they have more than one). I liked it but don't play it that much. I remember that one video that was kick a55 - the one with the fish flapping around at the end.

I actually need to create a new playlist and no doubt need to stick some Tool and A Perfect Circle on there. You down with Tool?

# William said on June 10, 2005 2:19 PM:

Nice selection of music there Bill :)

I HATE New Order though :P

Sinead is great - keep her!

Faith on More have 5-6 albums, and the one you have is their 3rd album I believe, but that and Angel Dust are their best. The album you have is the first album with the lead singer Mike Patton - before him they were quite the punk band with lead singer Chuck Mosley.

How about some good old Ministry - "Breathe", "So What" - to add to the other ones you got on there...

Lord's of Acid rock - that chick would probably kill you or I if she F'ed us eh? :)

And how about some more Nitzer Ebb like "Join in the chant"

No NWA?!

Nice mix of music there Bill :)

Skicow - thanks for the props. You KNOW NWA is a big part of my collection, just didn't have it on this playlist. I actually just came across a bunch of old ICE-T stuff in my collection that I forgot i had, Rhyme Pays and the BodyCount stuff. I like the old Sinead, I'm glad someone agrees with me. Sure, that "Nothing Compares to you" was the musical equivalent of a Chick Flick, but Drink before the war kicks ass.

Even if you hate New Order, have you heard Confusion? It's the song that they are playing in the Rave scene in Blade at the beginnign of the movie. I have been a fan of them for years and had NO clue it was them when I heard it. When someone told me it was NO, I was like - Bullsh1t - that can't be them. it definitely kicks ass. I forgot a few others though that are in the same realm, like "Right Here, Right Now" by FatBoy Slim (there's a Horrid song by the same name by Jesus Jones). I also found some stuff by "The Church" that kicks ass, Reptile was an awesome song. Hadn't heard it since high school so I forgot about it until I was organizing my CD's the other day.

Public Enemy is another great Posse that I didn't include. And stuff like Kool Moe D - Wild Wild West (there was another horrid song by the same name by Escape Club"), I'm that type of Guy by LL Cool J, the Document album by REM (What the F happend with Michael Stype - he got infected with the "I'm the next John Lennon" bug or something and started to really suck), The Miami Vice Soundtrack... so much more I could go on and on. Hit me with a couple cool tracks off the top of your head, your stuff always is hella kick a55.

At the risk of sounding like a major fanboy - Save Yourself is from their third album. If you like the "first" (Shame is actually on the second), you'll probably love the actual first - Ungod. Don't bother with the final self-titled one, though, its shit.

I'm with everybody else on Uncle Fester.

To mix and match a little on your list - Gravity Kills (similar in some respects to Stabbing) does an awesome cover of Depeche Mode's (similar in some respects to New Order) Personal Jesus. They did it first, but its basically the same arrangement Marilyn used, except the guy in Gravity can sing (not that I dislike Marilyn mind you, he's just not the greatest singer).

Or, I'll just go way off the deep end and mention a recent discovery (although the track is actually 3 years old) - Evangeline, by Mission UK - its got lyrics that Lords could have written, to some good old fashioned hard goth rock.

Sometimes I think I should have been a music critic. Except that nobody would probably read it. High Fidelity is one of my favorite near-chick-flick movies.

Shit, now I am disturbed. I dodn't think there was anyone left on the planet that like the Church, and then you go and mention BodyCount, too.

Gold Afternoon Fix crossed with Cop Killer - that sounds like fun...

lol - I love music! My wife and I have over 1000 CD's - sometimes I look at them and go "damn! That's a crap load of money sitting there"

Well you seem to like industrial so how about some Front 242? Headhunter? or my personal favorite Welcome to Paradise - " Hey poor, you don’t have to be poor anymore". Also any KMFDM would be sweet as well.

As for 80's music how about The Jesus and Mary Chain? or Killing Joke? Especially the song "Eighties"

Yeah, early Ice-T - "That b*tch tried to kill me"

I've not heard Confusion by NO - I'll give it a listen since my wife's got all their stuff...I DO like Joy Division though, very nice and dark....and The Smiths were awesome too. Our wedding song was "Somebody" by DM - it was my wife's idea, I wanted "The Power of Love" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood...

If you like weird a55ed music how about Primus or Mr. Bungle? They kicked a55! but you either love them or hate them.

Anyways, it's 4:30 and time for me to head home, have a good weekend! :)

# William said on June 10, 2005 4:31 PM:

Bill, we definately have the same taste in music, well except the bald freak and rap. However I must say this...How soon is now is the Smiths before Morrissey ran off. Now, the Smiths.... great. how about some Social Distortion? SuicidalTendencies? Ramones maybe? I am listening to the best of Faith No More as write this and cannot help but look through my playlist, Rob Zombie, Meat Puppets, Nirvana, Social D and for those that may remember them in Seattle back in the mid 90's Blackhappy. I suggest them if you can find their stuff anywhere
