Too good to be true - Written in VB and written by a French guy (Humor)

Published Sat, Nov 27 2004 19:15 | William

Before I say another word - please note this is humor.  I started my programming career as a number crunching geek at a marketing research firm where  I taught myself VBA because I was too lazy to handle the monotomy of what my job entailed.  VBA let me get three days work done in about two hours (yes, my machine was slow and my coding skills were sorry).  From there I moved to VB, then primarily to Oracle Forms/Reports and PL/SQL development.  That's when I realized I was going to be one of those guys I always wanted to make fun of unless I learned to program from - well, people that knew how to program.

As far as the France reference goes - well - let me say this.  Of the French people I've met in my life 100% of them were cool as hell (Yes Laurent and Michelle - this includes you).  They weren't just 'kinda cool', they were very cool folks.  So I'm just goofing here- truly it's not to be taken seriously.

Why all of the disclaimers?  Well, because this Jem was written by a French programmer and written in VB - By a Frenchmen .  George Bush speaks English better than this guy codes VB.

On the flipside - Yes, I know, one could make a career out of posting stupid code snippets written by American  Programmers and one could devout an entire lineage posting examples of stupid code written by American VB Programmers.

Wow. The sad thing is this wasn't in a classroom as the guys first assignment for "developing against a database" it was real world project code. People wonder why projects get outsourced. I see stuff like this and I don't wonder at all.

Bill no worries. I sent it to the account with a "Ti" in it but it must not have gotten through. I have three e-mail addresses for you but none of them is a gmail account. My gmail is andy dot canfield at. Just send me a message from your gmail account to mine and I'll reply to it from there with that list.
