Time to start buggin her

Kim finally posted the first shell  of her site but still hasn't put the real Flash stuff on it yet.  I'll admit, much of her original work was inspired by me - Cool Flash Effects implemented via Beavis and Buttheadesque humor.  One of my favorites is my Cuckoo Bird EDC taking a dump on the whole world.  Another one involves him blasting John Kerry's Cheesesteak sandwich with some of his 'special sauce' (it's not a political statement by any means - it's just that Kerry looks so uncomfortable trying to eat that cheesesteak that it might as well have Cuckoo crap on it).  Kim's got a lot of stuff but she's still a little ambivalent about posting it.  I'll keep pestering her (she reads this so feel free to post some encouragement for her)

Anyway, the best way to learn stuff is to do it so it's fun.  So if you have any cool ideas for Flash effects (She's already done the Star Wars intro as well as the Matrix thing with the Green letters), please let her know.  Next weekend I'm going to work with her w/ Flash Remoting and Web Services so we should have something cool up there - but if you have any ideas - we're all ears ;-)

Cool shell Kim.
For an idea I like when I go to a flash site and I mouse over a menu item that things go flashing across the screen. IE the little floating blue balls of light you already have, when somebody mouses over a menu item make like a meteor shower of those things sail across the sreen at a diagnal so it really looks like a meteor shower.

Pictures of you and Bill would be cool too since I have no idea what you guys look like.

Souds like excellent suggestions Andy. I think she posted some pics of us at the MVP summit - as well as some of Casey and a few other MVPS and misc Microsoft employees and writiers. I'm not sure if she still has them posted ( I know they were on another link) but this is PROOF that 'real' programmers support her learning Flash so she better get cracking.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to add mouse-over effects. I like the idea of a meteor shower -- that's certainly different than the usual button-changes-color-rollover that most people do. I am also going to post a link somewhere to a slideshow that I'm currently working on, which will definitely include Bill, myself, and various dogs.

In any case, I am EXTREMELY encouraged by all this, more than anyone knows! Thanks a bunch!

That's a cool idea Andy. Or you could have a few of those little blue balls of light circle the button that you are mousing over?

Keep going Kim, you've got a great start going, blue and black are great colours together.
