Personal Media Center and Phil Hendrie - A Match Made in Heaven
First, get one of these and then head over here . It's about as easy to sync your backstage Pass with your PMC as it can be. In this regard, the hype is real, Personal Media Center s just plain old kick a33. I haven't done much syncing with my TV shows b/c mainly, I don't watch tv. But I do have a lot of internet radio subscriptions and have finally figured out how to feed XM into my computer. (If you don't have XM radio, let me say that it's well worth it. Just being able to get Phil Hendrie every night makes it worth it. ) Anyway, being able to feed your favorite radio content and internet feeds and load them SEAMLESSLY into your PMC is too cool to really describe.
If you haven't used a PMC, it's going to seem like a glorified MP3 player b/c that's the initial reaction most people have. One the 5 occassions I've had the laptop with me, and I show people how easy it is to sync, their minds change. After all, ripping and loading MP3 players wasn't always a fun experience. It's gotten better recently, but it was a major pain in the butt in many cases.
But nothing, and I mean nothing, can compare to the ease of use that the Personal Media Center and Windows Media Player 10 provide. This thing has crossed well over the line of User friendly. It's like a cross between a loving grandmother and tech genius uncle, all dedicated to nothing but making you happy. And it does it. Now that I've tested the battery life I have to acknowledge that it's amazing. I don't know how they do it, but it's impressive to put it mildly.
I promised myself I'd get off of my lazy a33 this weekend and get all of my reviews done, (they keep piling up faster than I can think of them) so i'll post the full demo and walkthrough shortly... check over at www.devbuzz.com or Personal Media Center at Devbuzz
