Add Anil John to the list Casey supporters. Once again, how can it be that a guy with such 'poor' judgement who's so 'unprofessional' has such respect among his peers? Poor judgement is looking more and more alluring by the minute
I bet we'll see a couple more...

I just read another blog about someone who read Brains-n-Brawn and went out of their way to meet the guy behind it, and I have this feeling there will be quite a few more before long. I guess 'bad judgement' isn't all it's cracked up to be after all....
ADO.NET 2.0 - My first observations on ObjectSpaces
Published Tue, May 11 2004 22:12 |
William
So it's 12:50 and I took tomorrow off b/c this 24 hour day stuff isn't giving me nearly enough time to get stuff done. Anyway, I decided to get ahead of the curve and start cranking out some code w/ ObjectSpaces. So I started coding... SqlConnection cn...
Bad Judgement Revisited
Published Tue, May 11 2004 21:41 |
William
There's something just a bit too smug about all the critics referred to in my last post. I bet none of These developers have anything racey on their personal sites, and I bet none of them were a “sexual harassment suit waiting to happen”. I guess none...
Brains-n-Brawn and Employers
Published Tue, May 11 2004 20:26 |
William
Every time I read Casey's stuff and he's posted about employers, I really lose respect for the PC Business climate these days. Here's a sample quote he posted “Basically the combination of the content of your site and the fact that you direct prospective...

The more I play with it, the more i like it. Here's a few of my observations one two really fine tools, Deklarit and LLBLGenPro. We've also opened up a Forum at www.devbuzz.com on the subject. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. (Update) I just realized...

Personal Media Center is going to be BIG!
Published Mon, May 10 2004 6:30 |
William
A few days ago I posted an interview with Marcus Ash on the Personal Media Center and it's already #3 if you do a Google Search on 'Personal Media Center' . We think this is such a cool, revolutionary concept that we're dedicating a whole section over...
Misc Thoughts on ADO.NET 2.0
Published Sun, May 9 2004 20:44 |
William
Out of everything in .NET, ADO.NET is unquestionably my favorite. Naturally, I was really excited about ADO.NET 2.0-- it has such a poweful feature set and addresses so many 'shortcomings' of the current model that I'm already rewriting a few of my current...
Unit Testing w/ NUnit

About a year ago, I got 'serious' about advanced debugging techniques and picked up John Robbins' Debugging Applications for Microsoft .NET and Microsoft Windows which was one of the best books I've read in a while. Well, some time lapsed and I got a...
Some of my Article's Google Ranking...

I sure don't know why because they're not by best work or even close to it, but I've got some really high (2,3) google ratings on a few of my ADO.NET articles. They aren't long, aren't complex but they sure do get a lot of clicks. Totally befuddled, but...
Giving Props to Marcus Ash
Published Thu, May 6 2004 6:49 |
William
Marcus Ash gave a kick a33 demo of the new Personal Media Center a few weeks back at the MVP Summit. When I found out it's going to have a CLR in it, I couldn't get it out of my head. Did a follow up with Marcus and he answered a bunch of questions I...
Answering the Same Questions Revisited....
Published Wed, May 5 2004 20:02 |
William
Just did a quick count. Today alone, I answered 7 total questions where people's Updates didn't work. Why? You guessed it, none other than calling .AcceptChanges right before calling .Update. This really needs to be a compile error b/c it's running rampant...
Hi,I'm Bill and I'm didn't yet enter the Microsoft Mobile2Market Contest

William
For the last 1/2 a year, I've been trying to figure out what I could enter in the Mobile2Market Contest. Every single day, when I log into http://www.devbuzz.com I see the reminder. As the first deadline loomed, I knew I still didn't have an idea. Little...
Far Point's Spread - another cool tool
Published Wed, May 5 2004 8:54 |

Well, I figured I'd start dishing out props to companies who's products I use and enjoy. FarPoint's Spread is definitely one of them. In a nutshell, it gives you the ability to do anything you want to do with Excel, without Excel. The Web component is...
Simulating DataSet WriteXML with a XMLTextWriter

Linux's Market Share?
Published Wed, May 5 2004 5:35 |
William
Although I'm not anti-Linux by any means, I really can't stand most linux users. Not all, but the clowns on COLA for instance really gripe me. I wonder if this just some MS Sponsored Propoganda according to them. Wait, Google is the one doing the reporting...
It's not the technology
Published Tue, May 4 2004 20:56 |

One thing that really drives me nuts is programmers who take on more than they can handle, and when they start to realize this, start blaming the technology. I really wish MS tracked the number of 'alleged' bugs people claim in the NG's for instance vs...
A little more on the Media Player Issue
Published Mon, May 3 2004 20:20 |

So far this has been a pretty cool issue b/c everyone that seems to disagree with me at least presents a good argument. I just received this in the feedback section and I'd like to comment on it: <<Hi Bill, I want to try to answer your question...
