Friday Night at the Movies
I still have to get the rest of my blog from the Summit filled in, but took a break last night to see Walking Tall. It's a short movie, predictable, marginal acting, but Definitely worth seeing. I was hoping the Rock would have talked a little more trash and had some more one liners but oh well. Kill Bill vol II and The Punisher are both coming out this week (as is the video release of Kill Bill Part I) and I can't wait. Kim usually gets upset if I go see cool movies without her, but she I'm going to see Kill Bill Part II regardless (or irregardless if you live here in the South). I just heard that there's also going to be a Kill Bill Part III which is really going to rock. They really shouldn't have killed off GoGo in the first one b/c 1) she's hot 2) she was so evil that it was cool watching.
I got a copy of new book on Graphics Programming from the divine Joan Murray at Addison-Wesley. She was also kind enough to include a draft of a really really cool book on a technology I spend a lot of time with written by a guy I sat next to at the MVP Summit. The abstract is huge, I mean huge and it will be the biggest book on the subject written to date. I'm not sure what all I can say about it right now (maybe it's completely public and I'm just being a dork about it) but I'm going to drop Joan a line and if/when it's cool, I'll have a full review for it.
That'll be easy. The hard part is going to be the review of the Graphics/Game programming book. Left handers are supposed to be creative and stuff like that. That doesn't seem to be the case with me, but I can tell you one thing, every dude that wrote this book, all 400 of them, have a PhD from some Ivy League school and makes lots of money. So maybe reading through it at lunch will help me look smart or something.
