Windows Vista GOLD Has Been Pirated?

Has Windows Vista been "cracked" already? Even as it goes GOLD?

The Windows version that is currently circulating on some P2P websites called "Vista BillGates".

It doesn’t feature any activation cracks itself, and the supplied product key that comes with the download is just for the installation.

So you could in theory download and install the RTM (Build 6000) version of Windows Vista for 30 days BUT

The "activation crack" is a separate download.

AND this is where the problem will arise for anyone trying to use this pirated version of Windows Vista.

It works by replacing the licensing components with components from recent beta builds. Then using a product key from Beta 1, Beta 2, RC1 or RC2, the GOLD version (Build 6000) of Vista can be activated online.

Or so you would think...

My guess is that this particular loophole won’t be open for very long.

Microsoft has a list of EVERY product key it issued during the beta testing, so it’s not going to be difficult to blanket block them once the testing period officially ends!

Anyone with the pirated build will end up with a hard drive full of software that they can barley use.
