• TR1GG3R MAN: Qual’è il tuo Gamertag e qual’è la sua storia?
  Indy Lylox: Il mio tag è Indy Lylox, dove Indy sta a significare la tag del clan di cui faccio parte "THE INDIANS", mentre Lylox è la naturale trasformazione del mio soprannome.....Lilo...con l'aggiunta della x per xbox e della y per renderlo più difficile da pronunciare....

• TR1GG3R MAN: Da quanto sei membro della Community Xbox e cosa ti ha spinto a farne parte?
  Indy Lylox: Fin dal lancio del Live con il primo moto gp (in demo con l'abbonamento), pieno di stranieri che ti buttavano fuori in continuazione dalle varie lobby. Inizialmente erano veramente pochi gli italiani. I videogiochi sono sempre stati una mia passione e l'idea di potermi confrontare con altri giocatori attraverso il Live mi attirava tantissimo...ed infatti da quel giorno non ne sono più uscito.
   
• TR1GG3R MAN: Quando nasce The Live Community? Come si è evoluto nel tempo e come lo vedi nel futuro?
  Indy Lylox: The live Community, conosciuta ormai da tutti come TLC, è nata quasi per scherzo dalla passione di alcuni amici con l'obiettivo di creare una comunità in cui tutti i giocatori live italiani ne potessero fare parte con la massima trasparenza e autonomia di gestione per tutti quei giocatori più attivi e desiderosi di mettere anche a disposizione il proprio tempo libero nell'organizzare tornei a favore di altri amici/giocatori. Mi ricordo ancora il primo torneo organizzato su TLC (Halo 2 ndr) dove per primi mettemmo in home page un'animazione in flash che presentava tale evento. Oggi tutti i tornei sono presentati e supportati da molta comunicazione visiva attraverso banner, animazioni in flash, ecc ma vi posso assicurare che al tempo fummo i primi ad introdurre tale novità, come del resto fummo i primi a far capire alle varie Software House che era necessario un loro supporto in termini di riconoscimenti e premi per i vari vincitori dei tornei da noi organizzati e anche questa fu una vera e propria rivoluzione per il Live. Col tempo poi ci siamo resi conto che vincere un torneo su TLC vale più di qualsiasi premio in quanto i miglior giocatori del live giocano quotidianamente nei nostri tornei. Per il futuro sono previste tantissime novità come ad esempio un nuovo portale che sarà dedicato esclusivamente ai tornei e che permetterà sia ai giocatori che allo staff di gestire i tornei con maggiore coinvolgimento e maggiori informazioni. Oltre a questa novità (non si tratta di ladder...) abbiamo fatto partire una "gazzetta" dedicata esclusivamente alle notizie e risultati dei tornei svolti su tlc che si chiama TLCLiveJournal. E molte altre novità sono in arrivo sugli schermi di TLC !!!
   
• TR1GG3R MAN: Quanto tempo dedichi al sito e come vi suddividete i ruoli per organizzare un buon torneo?
  Indy Lylox: Bella domanda!!! Per fortuna siamo un bel gruppo fra admin e staff siamo quasi 30 e ci tengo a dirlo TUTTI AMICI ! Purtroppo siamo sempre di corsa e di norma impieghiamo tutti un paio di ore se non di più tutti i giorni e chiaramente nelle ore notturne...
   
• TR1GG3R MAN: Che cosa si prova ad essere eletti per 2 volte Fansite del Mese su Xbox.com?
  Indy Lylox: Un'emozione fantastica !!! Sinceramente sia la prima che la seconda volta è stata una vera e propria sorpresa. Eravamo convinti di aver fatto un buon lavoro ma non credevamo certo di poter fare meglio di altri con risorse sicuramente maggiori delle nostre. Ma evidentemente ci sbagliavamo e una volta ancora abbiamo dimostrato che l'impegno e la creatività pagano sempre. Ci tengo infatti a sottolineare che TLC non ha nessuno scopo di lucro ed è completamente autogestita e vissuta come puro hobby.
   
• TR1GG3R MAN: Che consigli daresti a chi vorrebbe creare un fansite?
  Indy Lylox: Ultimamente ne sono nati tanti e purtroppo morti altrettanti... non è certo facile. Ci vuole molto impegno, sacrifici e ore e ore di lavoro oltre ad un sacco di conoscenze tecniche nel mondo internet. Sono certo però che se alla base è presente un buon progetto e lo stesso è supportato e condiviso da più persone i successi sicuramente non tarderanno ad arrivare. L'importante, a mio modesto avviso, è rimanere umili. I nostri principi e la nostra filosofia non è mai cambiata fin dalla nascita della comunità anche se oggi contiamo oltre 4000 utenti attivi nei vari tornei.
   
• TR1GG3R MAN: Quali sono i tuoi giochi Xbox ed Xbox 360 preferiti e perchè?
  Indy Lylox: Sicuramente i giochi per clan ed in modo particolare la serie Rainbow Six e Ghost Recon oltre al sempre amato Splinter Cell. I motivi sono molto semplici: oltre al genere di gioco è l'unico modo per condividere delle belle serate con il maggior numero possibile di amici contemporaneamente. Con questo non voglio dire che non apprezzo i giochi in singolo...ma sicuramente per me vanno un po' in secondo piano. Per non parlare poi del gioco offline...i mie punti parlano chiaro, Indy Lylox gioca solo sul Live.
   
• TR1GG3R MAN: Raccontaci il tuo momento migliore vissuto con Xbox 360...
  Indy Lylox: La creazione del clan The Indians nel settembre 2004 ed il successivo lancio di TLC nel dicembre dello stesso anno. Un anno incredibile in cui ho avuto la possibilità di incontrare prima in Live e poi nella realtà tantissimi amici che ad oggi in molti casi ho sostituito totalmente con quelli abituali con i quali mi frequentavo prima di conoscere questo fantastico mondo di cui oggi non potrei più fare a meno. Con molti mi sento quotidianamente al telefono, per non parlare dei vari incontri e raduni, momenti fantastici ed indimenticabili che mi porterò sempre dietro.

  Indy Lylox: ... Xbox Live senza TLC !!!
   
• TR1GG3R MAN: Hai altre passioni oltre Xbox?
  Indy Lylox: L'xbox mi porta via molto tempo di conseguenza oltre al lavoro tutto il resto del mio tempo libero lo passo in famiglia con mia moglie e con il mio piccolo, guardando le partite della mia squadra preferita!!!

  tohokan: Io veramente studio, quest'anno ho fatto gli esami di terza media e sono stato promosso con Ottimo... dal prossimo anno (settembre) frequenterò il Liceo Scientifico.

  tohokan: Se parli di Live dal Luglio 2006 se parli di forum da Settembre 2006 quando scrivevo con il nickname antolioli... poi ho usato tohokan da Ottobre quando ho cambiato la password al Windows Live ID di mio fratello.

• TR1GG3R MAN: Qual è la storia del tuo Gamertag e perchè hai scelto la T minuscola?
  tohokan: Allora la gamertag l'ha scelta mio fratello... quindi non so la vera storia... tó’ forse da Santo (il suo nome) e hokan nn lo so proprio... mi faccio chiamare con la t minuscola semplicemente perchè è un nome... tipo i nomi propri che si scrivono maiuscoli non c'è un perchè... la stessa cosa con tohokan...

• TR1GG3R MAN: Ti piace quando ti chiamiamo “Piccolo Grande tohokan”? Se si, perchè?
  tohokan: Si... perchè mi sento così piccolo in confronto a voi che già lavorate e avete dei figli...

• TR1GG3R MAN: Cosa pensi del sito Xbox.com e dei forum?
  tohokan: Allora del sito Xbox.com USA penso che sia bellissimo, un poco meno quello italiano... invece dei forum penso che siano perfetti.

• TR1GG3R MAN: In media quanto tempo dedichi ad Xbox?
  tohokan: In questo periodo niente perchè la mia console è a Weiterstadt (Germania)... ma di solito di mattina niente e di pomeriggio un 2-3 orette...

• TR1GG3R MAN: Qual è il tuo genere e gioco Xbox 360 preferito?
  tohokan: Di genere il mio preferito è il calcio e lo sparatutto... il gioco non lo so... forse Gears of War o anke Forza Motorsport 2... non lo so.

• TR1GG3R MAN: Quale gioco stai aspettando con più trepidazione?
  tohokan: Sicuramente Halo 3... ma anche Ace Combat 6.

• TR1GG3R MAN: Secondo te, qual è la posizione migliore per giocare ad Xbox 360 (seduto, sdraiato, semi-sdraiato, in piedi, nella vasca da bagno, all'aperto, ecc...)?
  tohokan: Umh... secondo me seduto.

• TR1GG3R MAN: Sei soddisfatto di Xbox Live? Raccontaci il momento migliore che hai vissuto in Xbox Live...
  tohokan: Si sono molto soddisfatto a parte il prezzo... il miglior momento è stato... è stato... trovare nel Marketplace demo, filmati e immagini giocatore.

• TR1GG3R MAN: Hai qualche altra passione oltre Xbox?
  tohokan: Si... allora piscina, il lameraggio sui forum, guardare le partite di calcio, rompere i vasi di mamma giocando a calcio...

TR1GG3R MAN: Welcome and thanks for taking the time to answer this interview.
AceyBongos: No problem! It’s always a pleasure to talk about myself  
 

TR1GG3R MAN: What’s the story behind your Gamertag?
AceyBongos: I wish I could say there was a big long story about why I ended up being called AceyBongos but, erm, there isn’t. As far as I can remember when I signed up for Xbox Live on the original Xbox I sat for about 2 hours trying to think up an original GamerTag that I thought would sound funny. I tried a bunch of stuff like Mr Chips (a cult character on an old UK gameshow called Catchphrase), BaconCrisps, Biscuits and Cheese, and other stupid stuff like that. Weirdly, they were all taken! Then I remembered something my friend Hadyn Cooper used to say when we were teenagers in Aberdeen. If something was good he would say it was ‘ace’, but if it was really good he’d say it was ‘aceybongos’! I thought that was a good reason to call myself AceyBongos, plus it reminds me of my home in Scotland and my old friends.
Oh, and by the way, I cap up the A and the B simply because I like the way it looks!
 

TR1GG3R MAN: Well that explains the description on your blog: “What’s better than ace? Aceybongos!”.
How long have you been a member of Xbox Live and of the Xbox Community in general?
AceyBongos: I guess I signed up for Live back in March 2005, mainly to play Pro Evo Soccer online! I’d been a huge fan of Xbox since it launched but since I was a poor games journo I couldn’t afford broadband at home, so had to be happy with offline play to begin with. I used to work on a multi-format games magazine called CVG, then moved onto www.ComputerAndVideoGames.com, so I was always writing about Xbox and I think my boss kind of thought of me as the Xbox boy – it was definitely my favourite console. Then I got the chance to launch the website for the Official Xbox 360 Magazine in the UK (www.oxm.co.uk) and that’s when I think I really became part of the community. All the great additions that the 360 brought to the community like Achievements and GamerScore really caught my imagination, so it’s a real privilege to be working with the Xbox community day in, day out.

TR1GG3R MAN: I agree with you on that: Achievements and Gamerscore really added something to our gaming experience. Tell us a bit about yourself: Who’s the person behind the Gamertag? We want to know everything! Where you’re from, your name, age, education, and anything else you can shoot at us! 
AceyBongos: Yikes – this feels like a job interview! Well, you probably know my name’s Graeme Boyd, I’m 26, and I’m from Aberdeen in Scotland. I’m extremely proud of being Scottish, and I’d love to go back to live there one day. For the moment though, going to the only Scottish pub in London to cheer on Aberdeen FC and the Scotland football team will have to do. I went to university in Aberdeen and studied English and Film Studies, then went to a college in Ohio, USA for a year, then did a postgraduate course in Journalism in Edinburgh. I got a job writing for CVG magazine as soon as I graduated in 2003 and I’ve lived in London for almost 4 years now. In other news, I have a profound weakness for crisps and I like really bad music like Meat Loaf and Dire Straits. How’s that? Do I get the job?

TR1GG3R MAN: Wow that’s impressive! The position is yours!  Do you have any pets?
AceyBongos: Funnily enough I just got my first two pets ever – two cats. They’re both girls, one is called Poppet and the other is called Pickle. Poppet is a bit chubby and more affectionate, whereas Pickle is a right cheeky little bugger. I adopted them from my sister because she moved and couldn’t keep them any more. They’re great, although I hoped they might be a bit more interested in the Xbox. Honestly, when I’m playing Guitar Hero they sit there and look at me like I’m crazy!
 

TR1GG3R MAN: Haha! They look wonderful!
On a separate note, how long have you been working for Microsoft and do you like it so far?  
AceyBongos: I’ve been at Xbox for exactly one year now, and it has been fantastic – although probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done! It was a really big change for me going from basically being my own boss (there was only me and one other guy running www.oxm.co.uk) to working in a huge team with hundreds of people to meet and talk to. The first few months went by so quickly and I never felt like I would catch up! But you get used to it, and it’s probably the most exciting place you could be if you love Xbox. To start with, the weirdest thing for me as an ex-games journalist was sitting in meetings and hearing people talking about amazing top secret stuff. For months my first instinct was to go and write a news story! Obviously, I wouldn’t have kept my job long if I’d done that...

TR1GG3R MAN: Obviously not… What exactly does an Xbox Community Manager do? What is your daily working routine (if there is one)?
AceyBongos: The main purpose of my job is to represent the Xbox community within the European Xbox Marketing team. So, for instance, let’s say we’re planning a big game launch or a big announcement. I make sure that the community is fairly represented in those projects and try to get as much content out to the community as possible. I also report back to the wider Xbox team about what the community is thinking and talking about – that’s why it’s so good when members of the community are honest and open about their views (just so long as those views are thought-throw and pitched in a respectful way) because it means I can really try and make things change. There’s no such thing as a daily working routine here in Xbox – it’s all about getting stuff in where it fits! I’ll usually post some entries on my blog (www.AceyBongos.com) in the quieter times first thing in the morning and again later in the evening, but every day my diary is different (and never enough time for actual gaming!).

TR1GG3R MAN: What does Aceybongos do when he’s off work? What are your other interests and hobbies?
AceyBongos: AceyBongos is never off work... Only joking. Football is probably my biggest interest – I play as much as I can (3 times a week if I’m lucky), I watch the English Premiership as much as possible (I’m neutral – I don’t feel connected enough to any team to support them so I just enjoy watching everyone) and I support Aberdeen FC and Scotland. I also love music and films, but I never seem to find the time to listen to music or watch films!

TR1GG3R MAN: Let’s get to the gaming subject: Do you consider yourself a hardcore gamer or a casual gamer?
AceyBongos: I’ve been thinking about that a lot recently. I think I’m somewhere in between. I wouldn’t class myself as hardcore because I don’t take gaming seriously enough, but I’m not casual because I play a lot and can get quite wrapped up in my favourite games. I definitely think Achievements and GamerScore have made me more of a completionist though – I strive to do things and keep playing games after I would normally have switched them off just to get that last 5GP.

TR1GG3R MAN: Tell us: How much time does a compeltionist like you spend playing Xbox?
AceyBongos: Not as much as I would like! With work, commuting and other boring life stuff I often find it’s time to go to bed and I haven’t been able to play at all. I hate that feeling of waking up in the morning and knowing I’m not going to be able to play at all that day. But I usually manage to get in about 6-8 hours on a weekend, and little bits here and there during the week. Of course, if I’m playing something I really like I’ll end up staying awake until 4am just like every other gamer!

TR1GG3R MAN: Same here, work takes up most of my time but I catch up during weekends. What’s your favourite Xbox and Xbox 360 game and why?
AceyBongos: Obviously as a huge football fan Pro Evolution Soccer has always been top of my list, especially over Xbox Live. But I’m also hugely into driving games. Test Drive Unlimited had me hooked for months (I think it displays the best use of gradual Achievements in any Xbox 360 game I’ve ever seen) and I absolutely loved Project Gotham Racing at launch. Right now, however, it’s all about Forza Motorsport 2. I was really lucky to get a copy 2 weeks before it launched in Europe and I am absolutely addicted – it’s kept me up to 2am every night this week so I’m so tired at work! I also picked up a wireless wheel to go with it and it’s just a superb experience, both online and offline. The livery editor is ace too. You should see some of my Aberdeen Football Club-themed cars...

TR1GG3R MAN: … Sure thing! I’ll be waiting for your car gift! I may be wrong, but a while back I remember reading on your Blog that you couldn’t wait to get home to try out some new Marketplace downloadable content. Question is... don’t you have an Xbox 360 connected to Xbox Live in your office?
AceyBongos: Now that’s a sore subject... We do have a number of Xboxes connected up in the office and some people genuinely need them to carry out their day-to-day work, but unfortunately I’m not really classed as one of those people. I think the feeling among some people is that having a console on the desk would be too much temptation. However, we’re looking at making some changes in the office and I’m definitely going to push to have a console on there.
If nothing else, it does make me look forward to getting home more 

TR1GG3R MAN: This is a topic that shows up on the forums from time to time: Why are the European Xbox.com sites not updated as much as the US Xbox.com site? Is Xbox working on a solution to this problem?
AceyBongos: This is a really good question and I wish I had a good answer for you. I can tell you that the whole Xbox.com team is aware of this and that we really want to please our audience with the content on the site. We’re looking at ways of doing this in the next year and I really hope you’ll see a difference. One thing I’m definitely going to concentrate on is updating the Community section on Xbox.com in Europe.

TR1GG3R MAN: Ok, we’re counting on it so make us proud!  I also read your post following Major Nelson’s Blogcast about ideas for new European Xbox Competitions. I don’t have any original ideas in mind right now, but maybe a competition that is not based on Gamerscore would be nice. Also, I’ll take advantage of this topic to talk about integrating the Xbox.com users with certain events, promotions and giveaways. This is something that originates from the Halo 3 Beta codes giveaway: codes which were distributed to certain XCN sites, which then distributed them to the Community through some sort of competition. Correct? Well basically I had some users asking: "Why would Microsoft only give these codes to fansites and forget about us: users of its own official forums? Not that we want them all for us, but why didn’t they make a giveaway competition on Xbox.com too?". What’s up with that and do you think that including Xbox.com forum users in such events in the future will be possible? 
AceyBongos: I think that’s a superb idea. I’m aware that I should really be on the forums more often to hear that kind of feedback so I’m going to try and do that much more. Hopefully I’ll get an okay welcome...

TR1GG3R MAN: Don’t worry, of course you’ll get a warm welcome!
Changing subject, have you ever been to Italy? And more in general, which countries did you have the pleasure to visit so far? Out of them, which one amazed you the most and why?
AceyBongos: Unfortunately I have never been to Italy, but it’s at the top of my list. I think it looks like an absolutely stunning country with passionate people and amazing culture. I’m also a big fan of Italian football – some say it’s more boring than the English Premiership but I love the depth of the tactics – and I also have a strange fascination with the history of the Roman Empire, so I think I’d get a real kick out of seeing some historic sites. 
As for other countries, I’ve been quite lucky and traveled quite a lot with work. I’ve been to the USA loads (and lived there for a year) so I really enjoy going back, especially to New York and Los Angeles. Everyone tells me how great San Francisco is but I went once to visit EA and didn’t think the city was all that great. I’ve also been to Canada (very friendly – the people are much more like British people than the Americans are), France (love Paris, love the French language), Sweden (gorgeous – and it’s true what they say about Swedish women!), and Ireland (great - like Scotland but funnier). My favourite place to visit, however, is Spain. When we went to X06 last year in Barcelona I stayed for a few days after the event and totally fell in love with the city. It helps that I love the Spanish language and the food too, of course!

TR1GG3R MAN: Bene, questo spiega la descrizione sul tuo blog: “Cos’è meglio di ace? Aceybongos!”. Da quanto tempo sei membro di Xbox Live e della Comunità Xbox in generale?
AceyBongos: Presumo di essermi abbonato ad Xbox Live nel Marzo del 2005, principalmente per giocare a Pro Evolution Soccer online! Ero un grande fan Xbox dalla data di lancio ma siccome ero un povero giornalista di videogiochi non potevo permettermi la banda larga a casa, perciò ho dovuto accontentarmi del gioco offline fin dall’inizio. Lavoravo per una rivista multipiattaforma chiamata CVG, poi mi spostai su www.ComputerAndVideoGames.com, stavo sempre scrivendo articoli su Xbox e penso che il mio capo mi considerasse il ragazzo Xbox – era senza dubbio la mia console preferita. Poi ebbi l’opportunità di lanciare il sito Xbox Magazine Ufficiale per il Regno Unito (www.oxm.co.uk) e penso che quello fu il momento in cui diventai realmente parte della Comunità. Tutte le grandi innovazioni che la 360 portò alla Comunità come gli obiettivi ed il Gamerscore attirarono molto la mia fantasia, quindi è un vero privilegio lavorare con la Comunità Xbox ogni giorno.

TR1GG3R MAN: Concordo: Gli obiettivi ed il Gamerscore hanno veramente aggiunto qualcosa alla nostra esperienza di gioco. Dicci qualcosa di te: Chi è la persona dietro al Gamertag? Vogliamo sapere tutto! Di dove sei, il tuo nome, età, educazione, e qualunque altra cosa ci puoi sparare addosso! 
AceyBongos: Accidenti! - questo mi sembra un colloquio di lavoro! Probabilmente conoscete il mio nome Graeme Boyd, ho 26 anni e sono di Aberdeen in Scozia. Sono estremamente fiero di essere Scozzese ed amerei tornare a viverci un giorno. Al momento però, recarmi all’unico Pub scozzese di Londra per fare il tifo all’Alberdeen FC e alla squadra calcistica Scozzese dovrà bastarmi. Ho frequentato l’università in Aberdeen studiando Inglese e Studi Multimediali, poi sono andato ad un college in Ohio (USA) per un anno e successivamente ho fatto un corso post-laurea in Giornalismo ad Edinburgh. Ho trovato impiego per la rivista CVG appena mi sono laureato nel 2003 ed abito a Londra da 4 anni ormai. Parlando d’altro, ho un profondo debole per le patatine e mi piace brutta musica tipo i Meat Loaf e Dire Straits. Come sono andato? Mi sono aggiudicato il posto?

TR1GG3R MAN: Wow, sbaloriditivo! La posizione é tua!  Hai degli animali domestici?
AceyBongos: Guarda caso ho appena preso i miei primi 2 animali – 2 gatte. Una si chiama Poppet e l’altra Pickle. Poppet è un po’ grassotta e più affettuosa, mentre Pickle è una piccola peste. Le ho adottate da mia sorella perchè si è trasferita e non le può più tenere. Sono graziose, benché sperassi fossero più interessate all’Xbox. Sinceramente, quando gioco a Guitar Hero mi guardano come se fossi impazzito!

TR1GG3R MAN: Haha! Sono splendide! Parlando d’altro, da quanto tempo lavori per Microsoft e ti piace finora?
AceyBongos: Lavoro per Xbox da esattamente un anno ed è fantastico – anche se probabilmente è la cosa più difficile che abbia mai fatto! Per me è stato un grande cambiamento passare dall’essere il capo di me stesso (eravamo solo in 2 a dirigere www.oxm.co.uk) a lavorare in un Team enorme con centinaia di persone da incontrare e con cui parlare. I primi mesi sono passati così velocemente e non ho mai pensato che avrei recuperato! Ma ci fai l’abitudine, e probabilmente è il posto più eccitante dove trovarsi se ami Xbox. Inizialmente, la cosa più strana per me come ex-giornalista era attendere riunioni dove parlavamo di cose straordinarie top secret. Per mesi il mio primo istinto era quello di scriverci una news! Ovviamente non avrei mantenuto il mio posto di lavoro se lo avessi fatto...

TR1GG3R MAN: Ovviamente no... Cosa fa esattamente un Xbox Community Manager? Qual’è la tua routine giornaliera lavorativa (se esiste)?
AceyBongos: Il mio compito principale è rappresentare la Comunità Xbox all’interno del Marketing Team Europeo. Quindi, ad esempio, diciamo di pianificare un grande evento o un grande annuncio. Io mi assicuro che la Comunità sia giustamente rappresentata in quei progetti e cerco di fornire alla Comunità il maggior numero di contenuti possibili. Inoltre faccio rapporto al più ampio Team Xbox sui pensieri della Community – ecco perchè è così bello quando membri della Comunità sono aperti ed onesti nei loro pensieri (finché i loro commenti sono ben pensati ed esposti con tono educato) perchè significa che posso veramente provare a cambiare le cose. Non c’è nulla di simile ad una routine qui in Xbox – si tratta di fare le cose appena ne abbiamo il tempo. Di solito, nei momenti più calmi, faccio dei post sul mio Blog (www.AceyBongos.com) alla mattina e alla sera, ma ogni giorno la mia agenda è diversa (e non c’è mai abbastanza tempo per giocare!).

TR1GG3R MAN: Cosa fa AceyBongos quando non è al lavoro? Quali sono i tuoi interessi ed i tuoi hobby?
AceyBongos: AceyBongos non smette mai di lavorare... sto scherzando! Il calcio probabilmente è il mio maggiore interesse – gioco più che posso (3 volte a settimana se sono fortunato), guardo la Premiership Inglese il più possibile (sono neutrale – non mi sento connesso abbastanza ad alcuna squadra per farne il tifo, quindi mi piace guardarle tutte) e tifo per Aberdeen FC e Scozia. Amo anche la musica ed i film, ma non trovo mai il tempo da dedicarne!

TR1GG3R MAN: Passiamo al tema del gioco: Ti consideri un hardcore gamer o un casual gamer?
AceyBongos: Recentemente ci sto pensando molto. Penso di essere da qualche parte a metà. Non mi considero un hardcore gamer perchè non prendo il gioco abbastanza seriamente, ma non sono neanche un casual gamer perchè gioco molto e mi dedico ai miei giochi preferiti. Penso che gli obiettivi ed il Gamerscore mi abbiano invogliato a completare di più i miei giochi – ormai sono un vero irriducibile e continuo a giocare anche quando normalmente avrei smesso solo per sbloccare quegli ultimi 5 GP.

TR1GG3R MAN: Dicci: Un irriducibile come te, quanto tempo dedica giocando a Xbox?
AceyBongos: Non quanto vorrei! Col lavoro, l’itinere ed altre cose noiose della vita molte volte mi ritrovo che è già ora di andare a dormire e non ho potuto giocare per niente! Odio quella sensazione di svegliarmi la mattina sapendo che non potrò giocare tutto il giorno. Ma di solito riesco a giocare dalle 6 alle 8 ore nei weekend, ed un poco anche durante la settimana. Ovviamente, se sto giocando a qualcosa che mi piace molto, finisco per restare sveglio fino alle quattro di mattina come ogni altro giocatore.

TR1GG3R MAN: Come te, il lavoro occupa la maggior parte del mio tempo ma recupero durante i weekend. Quali sono i tuoi giochi Xbox e Xbox 360 preferiti e perchè?
AceyBongos: Ovviamente da grande appassionato di calcio, Pro Evolution Soccer è sempre stato in cima alla mia lista, specialmente in Xbox Live. Ma mi piacciono immensamente anche i giochi di macchine. Test Drive Unlimited mi ha coinvolto per mesi (penso che sfrutti al meglio l’idea degli obiettivi graduali rispetto a qualunque altro gioco Xbox 360 che abbia mai visto) e ho assolutamente amato Project Gotham Racing 3 al lancio. Adesso però è il turno di Forza Motorsport 2. Sono stato molto fortunato nel ricevere una copia 2 settimane prima del lancio in Europa e ne sono dipendente – mi ha tenuto sveglio fino alle 2 ogni notte questa settimana per questo sono così stanco al lavoro! Ho anche preso un wireless wheel ed è un esperienza sublime, sia online che offline. L’editor  è “ace”. Dovresti vedere alcune delle mie macchine Aberdeen Football Club personalizzate.

... Certo! Aspetterò che me ne regali una!  Potrei sbagliarmi, ma tempo fa ricordo di aver letto sul tuo Blog che non vedevi l’ora di tornare a casa per provare un nuovo contenuto scaricabile dal Marketplace. La domanda è... ma non hai una Xbox 360 collegata ad Xbox Live nel tuo ufficio?
AceyBongos: Questo è un argomento irritante... abbiamo un certo numero di Xbox connesse in ufficio ed alcune persone ne hanno veramente bisogno per portare a termine il loro lavoro quotidiano, ma sfortunatamente io non sono classificato come uno di quelli. Penso che alcune persone considerino l’avere una console sulla propria scrivania una tentazione troppo forte. Tuttavia stiamo pensando di apportare delle modifiche in ufficio e sicuramente proverò a farmene assegnare una.
Se non altro, il fatto di non avere una console, mi da più voglia di tornare a casa 
 

TR1GG3R MAN: Questo è un argomento che appare sui forum di tanto in tanto: Perchè i siti Xbox.com Europei non sono aggiornati quanto quello U.S.? Xbox sta lavorando ad una soluzione al problema?
AceyBongos: Questa è veramente una buona domanda e vorrei poterti dare una buona risposta. Posso dirti che l’intero Team Xbox.com è al corrente della situazione e che vogliamo soddisfare la nostra utenza con i contenuti presenti nel sito. Stiamo cercando dei modi per farlo nel prossimo anno e spero vivamente che noterete un cambiamento. Una cosa sulla quale mi concentrerò sicuramente è l’aggiornamento della sezione Community di Xbox.com in Europa.

TR1GG3R MAN: Ok! Ci contiamo, rendici fieri!  Ho anche letto il tuo post seguente il Blogcast di Major Nelson riguardante nuove idee per competizioni Xbox Europee. In questo momento non ho delle idee originali da proporre, ma forse una competizione che non sia basata sul Gamerscore sarebbe bella. Inoltre, approfitto di questo tema per parlare dell’integrazione degli utenti Xbox.com in certi eventi, omaggi e promozioni. Questo argomento ha origine dal giveaway dei codici per le Beta di Halo 3: codici distribuiti ad alcuni siti XCN, che a loro volta li hanno distribuiti alla Community attraverso una competizione. Corretto? Fondamentalmente alcuni utenti si sono chiesti “Perchè Microsoft avrebbe dato dei codici solo ad alcuni fansites dimenticandosi di noi: utenti dei suoi stessi forum? Non che li vogliamo tutti per noi, ma perchè non hanno fatto una competizione anche su Xbox.com?” Cosa puoi dirci a riguardo e pensi che includere gli utenti Xbox.com in simili eventi nel futuro sarà possibile?
AceyBongos: Penso sia un idea superba. So che dovrei essere presente nei forum più spesso per sentire questo tipo di commenti quindi proverò ad esserci. Sperando di ricevere un buon benvenuto…

TR1GG3R MAN: Non ti preoccupare, sicuramente riceverai un caloroso benvenuto! Cambiando argomento, sei mai stato in Italia? E più in generale, quali nazioni hai avuto il piacere di visitare finora? Fra tutte, quale ti è piaciuta di più e perchè?
AceyBongos: Sfortunatamente non sono mai stato in Italia, ma è in cima alla mia lista. Penso sia una nazione splendida con persone appassionate e una cultura stupefacente. Sono anche un grande fan del calcio italiano – alcuni dicono che sia più noioso della Premiership Inglese ma amo la complessità delle loro tattiche – e stranamente mi affascina la storia dell’Impero Romano, quindi penso che mi divertirei moltissimo visitando alcuni siti storici.
Per quanto riguarda le altre nazioni, sono stato alquanto fortunato e ho viaggiato molto per lavoro. Sono stato negli Stati Uniti svariate volte (e ci ho vissuto per un anno) quindi mi piace molto tornarci, specialmente a New York e Los Angeles. Tutti mi dicono quanto sia bella San Francisco ma ci sono andato una volta per visitare EA e non ho pensato che la città fosse chissà quale grande cosa. Sono anche stato in Canada (molto amichevole – le persone somigliano molto di più agli Inglesi rispetto agli Americani), Francia (amo Parigi, amo la lingua Francese), Svezia (magnifica -  ed è vero quello che dicono sulle donne svedesi!), ed Irlanda (grandiosa – come la Scozia ma più divertente). Il mio posto preferito da visitare, tuttavia, è la Spagna. Quando siamo andati all’X06 l’anno scorso a Barcellona mi sono fermato alcuni giorni in più dopo l’evento e mi sono innamorato della città. Il fatto che ami la lingua Spagnola ed il loro cibo ovviamente ha contribuito!

Xbox 360 Extended Warranty Interview With Chris Lewis, VP Xbox EMEA

• Chris Lewis: Currently in Europe the Xbox 360 console is covered by a 1 year manufacturer’s warranty, however in most countries the Xbox 360 has a two year retailer warranty. If the console is out of warranty, there is a charge (105 Euro + tax) to have it repaired. It then comes with an additional one year repair warranty. With these changes, there is effectively a three year warranty with no charge for repair for general hardware failures indicated by the three flashing red lights error message on the console.

• Chris Lewis: Over the past few months, we have experienced a higher number of repairs to Xbox 360 consoles than we feel is acceptable.  Following a thorough investigation into the issue and with on-going testing, we’ve identified several factors that can cause general hardware failures indicated by three flashing red lights on the Xbox 360 power button. We’ve already made improvements to the console to address this.  Now, by offering this extended three-year warranty, we want to show that Microsoft stands behind its products and is taking responsibility to ensure a great Xbox customer experience. 

• Chris Lewis: These new policies are global and are fully applicable in all European countries.

• Chris Lewis: The new policies are now being instituted in our customer service centres around the world, which may take a few days to fully implement. I’d like to thank European Xbox 360 owners for their patience while we work through this.

• Chris Lewis: The three year warranty is solely related to general hardware failures indicated by the three flashing red lights. There is no need to return your console if it is working properly, but should your console experience any problem, we want to hear from you.

• Chris Lewis: No, most console owners never experience a problem with their Xbox 360. Again, if you do happen to have any problems, we want to hear from you.

• Chris Lewis: The three year warranty specifically covers general hardware failures that are indicated by the “three flashing red lights” error message.  The DVD tray is not likely to lead to that error message but can be covered under the regular console warranty.

• Chris Lewis: We will reimburse any customer who was out of warranty and paid for repairs due to issues indicated by the three flashing red lights error message. If this applies to you, you should expect to receive a cheque in 10-12 weeks.

• Chris Lewis: No, the majority of our Xbox 360 owners report having a terrific experience with their consoles, but we are taking this action because we stand behind our products and are taking responsibility to ensure a great customer experience for all of our customers.  We have been following this issue closely, and through ongoing testing have identified several factors that can cause a general hardware failure as indicated by three flashing red lights on the console. To address these issues, we have already made improvements to the Xbox 360 console.

• Chris Lewis: Depending how far you live from our repair centres, the turnaround is usually 2 to 4 weeks. As we roll this new policy out, however, we expect an increased number of calls and repairs so turnaround times may be longer. Again, I’d like to thank any European Xbox 360 owners having their console repaired for their patience. 

• Chris Lewis: This is a complicated problem. It took us a while through testing to isolate certain things and determine patterns, as more consoles entered the marketplace and we were able to identify trends as statistically relevant. 

• Chris Lewis: Your local Xbox Customer Services department will be able to help you, but please understand that we are naturally experiencing more calls than usual at the moment. You can find contact details for your local Customer Services department on http://www.xbox.com/.
