PowerPoint Heaven updates preview
Thu, Oct 19 2006 18:38

The picture shown below is an anime character named Akiha Tohno. You will be surprised if I tell you that this is drawn using PowerPoint. If that's not enough, how about animating this character? On the next PowerPoint Heaven's update, Han Byul Jang will impress you with some of his works in PowerPoint.

Flash Blub art III
Tue, Oct 17 2006 19:40

Another cool Flash Bulb effect. In this scenario, 5 similar images are inserted onto a slide and placed on top of each other. Next, I applied the Emphasis > Flash Bulb effect onto the images and follow the method used on Flash Bulb art I. When running in the slide show, the end result gives you a feeling as if the image is popping out. Take a look at the sample here:

Flash Bulb art II
Sun, Oct 15 2006 19:11
Another experiment with the Flash Bulb effect. Same method has been applied. But this time round, instead of applying the Flash Bulb effect onto different objects, multiple Flash Bulb effects are applied onto a single object. The result looks good, giving you a lightning effect. Try that out too, and perhaps you can further improvise it.

Here's a sample you can take a look at:

Flash Bulb art
Fri, Oct 13 2006 20:03
Just experimenting with the Emphasis > Flash Bulb effect today. Here's a sample you can take a look at:
http://pptheaven.mvps.org/blog/FlashBulbEffect.zip

What I have done here is to have a number of AutoShapes, then applying the Emphasis > Flash Bulb effect on them. Next, set these effects to start "With Previous". Finally, have the second effect with a delay (Right click on effect, select the Timing tab) of 0.1 seconds, the third effect with a delay of 0.2 seconds, so on and so forth.

I will be experimenting with more Flash Bulb art in the next few days.
Lorem Ipsum
Tue, Oct 10 2006 1:35
Have you heard of Lorem Ipsum? Basically, it's a chunk of dummy text that you can use to used to demonstrate the graphic elements of a document or visual presentation, such as font, typography, and layout. With Lorem Ipsum generator, you can produce a chunk of randomized text just in one click. Check this out:

Featured on The Straits Times Newspaper!
Sat, Oct 7 2006 3:24
I got onto The Straits Times Newspaper today! PowerPoint Heaven and The Art of PowerPoint-ing was on the newspaper too. My school, Singapore Polytechnic (Thanks, Mdm Leong!), nominated me for The Straits Times youth award and I was informed by the publisher on Thursday that I had got in. It wasn't an extremely big article, but it's on the newspaper, that's a fact. :-)

Nice OfficeArt effect with PowerPoint 2007
Tue, Oct 3 2006 17:14
I have done a presentation using PowerPoint 2007 today. OfficeArt in PowerPoint 2007 sure creates cool impact, especially if you combine it with animations. The feedback was great! Here's a screenshot of the presentation, showing you the Before (how the presentation originally looks like) and After (enhanced with PowerPoint 2007):
