Irish Flight Sim Design - the end

Well…   it was fun while it lasted.

For the last two years my life has been hectic!   Moving home, new company offices, general life stuff.    During that time, one thing has become clear.   Unless I figure out a way to clone myself, something has to give.

Unfortunately, the thing that had to give was Irish Flight Sim Design.

So, the domain expired last week, and the hosting package is gone.   People did not seem to want to pick up the reigns and take control of the site, scenery and cost associated so I had to let it go….     Graham and I are both simply too busy right now.

Now, that said, I am going to renew the domain…   so if there are serious offers and someone wants to take over, it is yours.

Also! – and this is important - If someone is really serious about finishing off EINN (Shannon) airport, and they approach myself or Graham with a proper plan, we may be convinced to let you have our source code / work done so far….   no promises, I am just putting the thought out there for others to dwell on.

Maybe I can just give the source to my friends over on the ACES team and it could make it to FS(Next)….    who knows!  (Hal, that is directed at you!)

No, this cannot wait....

I had a call from a client this morning asking if we really needed to restart the server after applying the critical security patch from Microsoft.

YES!

I cannot stress how important this update is…    so get it installed, like right now!  You are already 5 days late…

Apple get right back at shaming Microsoft

Vlad beat me to this, but they are just so funny they have to be posted here as well.

No Wifi on the Blackberry Storm!

OMFG!   What were they thinking!

I was all excited about getting my hands on the new Blackberry Storm, and I finally thought there was a viable alternative to the iPhone on the Vodafone network here in Ireland…  but alas…

NO WIFI!

Words fail me.

Silverlight 2

Silverlight

Not sure how I missed this, especially considering every single Microsoft webpage tries to get you to install Silverlight….

Silverlight 2 is here.   Install it.

New Macbook thoughts....

Am I the only one who thinks the new Macbook from Apple is actually quite ugly?    I don’t care that it is made from a lump of aluminium

Plus, that first guy on the video kind of freaks me out…   He almost loves the design too much if you know what I mean.

Maybe I am being harsh and it is just one of those things you need to see in person.   Maybe I will actually end up with one, but not in this recession….   I need a PC for that…  right?

MVP 2009

Well, I just got great news!   MVP for another year!

I have to say that this year it came as a bit of a surprise as most of the community work I have been doing has not been as visual (online forums) as previous years…

Anyway….    hoooorah!
