bucksbill.com - let this be a warning to all...

I received the following correspondence via email:

"I accidentally purchased MalwareAlarm and Registry Defragmentation. Advertized as $39.99. When I put in my credit card information, it turned out to be I was charged $79.99.

I spent 3 days calling them to get refund. Their telephone system is a hoax, too. sounds like I am in the waiting list to be answered. But at the last minute after waiting 15-20 minutes, it gets disconnected or voice mail box is too full. This is a hoax to get money out of people with systematic set-up of lies. 30-day money back was advertized. I tried to get refund from the very next day. I don't even find their website. If any body can help me to get the refund, I would appreciate."

As we know, bucksbill.com shares name servers with lots of nasties, including 4cetera.com, adtraff.com, burnads.com, forceup.com, greyhathosting.com, mysurvey4you.com, netmediagroup.net, newbieadguide.com, prevedmarketing.com, proximogropu.com, r2d2adverising,com, shivanetworking.com, traffalo.com, traveltray.com, uniqads.com, windefender.com, workhomecentre.com and zappinads.com (to name just a few)

AND, bucksbill.com are sharing A records, mailservers and nameservers with ultimatepayment.com - another name to avoid until shown to be legitimate (considering ultimatepayment.com's stable mate, I will take quite a bit of convincing).

There are many freeware legitimate, effective anti-spyware tools but people still fall to the 3 years old "Spyware on your system" trick.

If you search for "MalwareAlarm" using Google search engine then you will at least get 1st 30 entries that says this applciation is rogue/misleading or tips to remove this crap.

There are many people and forums really working hard to help people to stay safe on internet, so before purchasing do a little bit of Google and stay safe...

Thanks to Sandi who is trying to educate people through this post.

The same thing happened to me with malware. I agreed to the 39.99 and 79.99 was charged to my credit card.

I am also a victim of this trap.  Why we all should not approach the "Bettter Business Bureau" of Pasadena, CA, and seek their intervention.

I guess, i am the last victim of this hoax on March 29th. Same scenario, same story for me and a loss of $49.95.

Let's try to combine our efforts to fight this scam and try to get our money back. This has to stop.

Any ideas, suggestions as a team effort to end this hoax, please email me at yannickguerin@optonline.net

Thank you.

My father was recently sucked in by the same scam and despite agreeing to pay $51.37 he was charged $89.95 Australian.

The payment portal was also UltimatePayment.com and should be avoided like the plague.

I do not expect to see this money again and am even more concerned that they will strike again and try to process more charges to the credit card in future.

Has anyone experienced other unauthorized payments from UltimatePayment.com

I was taken in by these folks as well and have contested the charge. In addition, I sent the web addy for this site to my bank for their own appraisal. I too ran into the same problem telephonically etc. Stay clear of them folks!!
