Helping HP Director software to play nice with IE7 Part 2

FIXED!!
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?docname=c00802504&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=hpr_R1002_USEN

Note: If you do not have an HP Software Update option as described in the above article you can conduct a manual search for the update.  Go to www.hp.com (or www.hp.com.au if in Australia).  Go to "Support & Drivers" then select "download drivers and software" and enter your scanner's name and model number (in Australia, click on the "Software & Driver Downloads" link on the home page then select "download drivers and software", then enter your scanner's name and model number).  Then click on the >> button.

You will be prompted to confirm your scanner's name and model number, then you will need to select your operating system.

The download you need to make your HP scanner software work with HP will be listed in the "Update" section as a critical update.

This has been broken since beta 2 - a workaround is listed on my blog: http://msmvps.com/blogs/spywaresucks/archive/2006/10/22/197647.aspx

Kiwipat reports in the comments section of 197647 that a fix has been released, available at:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software7/COL10861/sj-31873-2/COL10861.exe

I have not tested the recommended software; an information page about the download can be found here:

If unable to access your HP Director menu from the desk top icon.

Click on the Desk top icon,(nothing happens?) operate "ALT and Spacebar" click on"Minimize" probably you will need to do this twice.  You can then, (Or should be able to) Open HP Director from the Bottom Toolbar.   It works for me.

Yea.  Thats what HP gets for slacking on the UI by using IE. The fact that they can't program a simple stand-alone UI make me seriously wonder about thier low-level. code.  un-freakin-believable.

My friend just downloaded the IE7 and is having problems printing from the internet with his HP Photosmart 8400.  He says it is printing very small.  Everything else seems to be printing fine.  Any ideas????  I looked at the HP site and it talked about the fixes listed above for the HP Director, which he has, but I am not sure this is a director issue, I don't think so.
