It did fail on me trying to install it one our DEV box which should have been a clone of TEST (which was succesful). In our case it turned out that there was a difference in available disk space. After making some space available it went through with no further errors... the error was; "An error has occured. Sorry for the inconveniance", or something close that - thanx Microsoft. :)

ANYWAY, just make sure you have at least 500mb diskspace left before you start.

I used your Inside SharePoint 2007 Admin Book I bought at Tech Ed (LA) to setup my new MOSS farm on W2008R2 and it worked great. Thanks!

Question: When I install the cumulative updates for MOSS 2007, can I slipstream instead of running the executable?

Hey Shane,

Question... Our company is working on upgrading to SP2 for MOSS for our external facing site. Knowing that there could be connections on our web site at the time of the upgrade would it be a good idea to do a Quiesce Farm to close the connections to the farm first?

Damir I have heard of others having that issue but in the handful I have done I have not had that issue. Guess it just depends on its mood.

In my experience, when doing clean install with MOSS w SP1, upgrade to SP2 will fail if SSP is not created.
