"Inside your business there is a powerful force - your people. Are they ready?"
Empowering your people is something that is required, was required and will be required till your business is in business.
Slowly, the disparate technologies or concepts for business we saw or imagined years ago and the picture of technology that we visualize materializing in future, are all coming together into a single vision - a vision where the people have power to move things.
An its software(of course, along with many other things), which is bringing this vision more closer each day.
Software companies are churning softwares which are making things possible which we wouldn't even have imagined five years ago...
Steve Ballmer gave a good talk on People ready business which has something for everyone to think about...
No matter what people say, we have seen clearly Microsoft leading the way in software innovation. Connectivity, Integration, Interop and what not...
Microsoft has also published a white paper on People ready business which I think is a very good read!
Overall a very impressive and useful effort!
Bringing this to a close, allow me to quote something from this awesome webcast - the words of Eric Singleton - CIO of Tommy Hilfiger
"It's difficult to take the risk of thinking outside the box if the software you're using, or the systems they are part of, or the education, or the corporate culture are all screaming do what the box tells you, this is the best way to do it. We cannot afford to not take the risk. At Tommy Hilfiger we challenge ourselves every day to stay outside of that box, and to look for a better way to do things that delivers solutions to our business. "
