How to set the Symantec Anti Virus to Windows Live Messenger.

I am unable to find which .exe file to use.

This command is working now... when i mention only C:\Program Files\Symantec AntiVirus\Rtvscan.exe ...... it is opening the Symantec but not scanning...

When I this path along with ur attributes.. It works...

Yes, do you have settings for NOD32 3.0?

Why when Symantec AntiVirus scans the file as soon as its downloaded..Thats what AutoProtect is for. waste of effort?

What can you do to get Bitdefender to work with live messenger ?

Sorry! I wonder how can the attributes of NOD32

be used for Rtvscan.exe of Norton as above? I

have tried many times and only a blank Dos windows pop up for a few seconds! Nor can I

find other information on the internet saying

that attributes like:

"/selfcheck+ /list+ /scroll+ /quit+...."

can be used for Rtvscan.exe!

I finally used Vpscan.exe and Vpscan.ini instead for setting up virus scanning in MSN!

But I really perfer Rtvscan.exe, if possible!

Does anyone know how to set up AVG as the virus scanner for Windows Live Messenger?

someone posted this in December. I would also like to know the answer as I tried clicking on the AVG file and when it opened obviously there were loads of things in it and I have no clue which is the one to highlight for this.

Was wondering if you guy/s could please write this on other anti virus to setup a scan, like avira,avast,kaspersky etc etc

1. Login to Messenger.

2. Click on Tools.

3. Click on Options.

4. Click on “File Transfer”.

5. Place a tick in “Scan files for viruses using:”.

6. Paste the following (including the quotation marks):

"C:\Program Files\Eset\nod32.exe" /selfcheck+ /list+ /scroll+ /quit+ /pattern+ /heur+ /scanfile+ /scanboot- /scanmbr- /scanmem- /arch+ /sfx+ /pack+ /mailbox- /adware /unsafe /ah /prompt /all

7. Click on “Apply”.

8. Click on “OK”.
