That error message comes from _derived/nortbots.htm

nortbots.htm only appears in four cases:

1) You are testing on a disc-based website, including a web that was edited as a FrontPage disc-based web and is being browsed through a web-server.

2) You are testing on a website that does not have server extensions installed or running

3) The site (or form page) was FTPed from a disc-based web, or published using a FTP address for the destination. Publish must be to a URL of the form http://example.com

4) There is a bug associated with FrontPage98 which causes this problem.

We get lots of posts in the FrontPage newsgroups about issues that end up requiring a lot of clean up of FP temporary files, web cache files, etc.

This requires the FP user do a lot of digging into hidden files that are sometimes hard to find.

Fellow FP MVP Steve Easton has developed a nifty little Cleaner Utility that accomplishes this at the click of a button(s).

Not that I am aware of.

Go to http://www.etree.org/mkw.html and download their Audio Compression Tool. This can be used to convert the .shn file to another format.

Hello everyone. I got a simple contact form on my site and i have it set to email me the results. However i am trying to get it to send to multiple email addresses. I have tried using ; and , between the email addresses but it still will not work. I have searched google and the newsgroups but cannot seem to find the answer. Appreciate any help you can give me.

I have just upgraded from FP2000 to FP2003, and I note the ability under SharePoint 2.0 to set up a blog. However I cannot ascertain whether it is possible to set up an RSS feed for that blog. Other software that enables you to create and publish RSS feeds (such as Feed For All) tends to work on an FTP basis, which obviously doesn't make it ideally suited to FP. Any ideas would be welcome - thanks.

You can't, the host must do it. And, no matter what they tell you, they can indeed change the permissions if they want to. Perhaps they just don't know how.

If the database is in the fpdb folder, and you have Access, you could try this:

In Access create a new, small database (one table, one column, no records), and save it where it will be easily found.

Open the web in FrontPage, and import the new database. FrontPage will offer to move the database to the fpdb folder - allow FP to do so. FrontPage will usually (but not always) reset the permissions on the fpdb folder correctly during the import process. The new database can be deleted from the web after the import.

My IPS is Compuserve and their web publishing does NOT recognize any type of FP extensions. Is there any way possible to create a web site via FrontPage .. eliminate and/or turn off the extensions .. and then publish my site directly to http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages ??

Do not use any of the functions of FrontPage that require the extensions.

In FP2003 go to Tools->Page Options - Authoring Tab Uncheck "Browse Time Web Components"

Uncheck "SharePoint Services"

In FP2000 - Tools->Page Options - Compatibility Tag Uncheck "Enabled with FrontPage Server Extensions (This may also apply to FP2002)

This will disable all FPSE components when adding to a page - it will not remove any that are already in pages.

Also see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;281532 , which lists all the components requiring Server Extensions.

As I said, ...

When you click on the thumbnail, the photos expand or contract depending on the size of the next picture. I guess I should put this in a separate thread - but I just wanted to report that the publishing worked !! If any one reading this does have a suggestion about the Photo Galleries I would appreciate it. Othewise, I'll post it in a new thread. But I'm just so excited that it everything got published.
