Can SQL2K be upgraded to SQL2K5 during migration process to MOSS2007

Hi,
I need to migrate a sharepoint farm (v2.0) to MOSS2007. Customer meanwhile also wants to migrate its sharepoint backend sql 2000 instance to sql 2005. Is there a possibility in the migration process to do this along with the sharepoint migration ? I assume this needs to be done as a seperate migration process...
Anyone who has some best practice advice here?

Hi Bert
You can do the following.
First migrate the SQL 2000 Databases to SQL 2005. Then you can choose the the recommended upgrade options of doing a DB upgrade to MOSS 2007.

Though, when first upgrading to SQL 2005 I will have a sharepoint v2003 farm with as backend SQL2005, is that a supported solution? I would rather stay within the support guidelines in case MS support would be required if things go horribly wrong...
If this is ok to go for I will then afterwards go for the DB migration approach since I will need to move to new HW.

Yes, SPS 2003 and SQL 2005 are supported scenarios.
