Hi there,

Working on a test upgrade here, and for some reason one of my converted areas ending up with 2 pages. The default.aspx page converted fine really, but the upgrade added a UpgLandingPgRedir page that points to the wrong place.

When I try to delete UpgLandingPgRedir, I'm prompted that "The item that you are trying to delete is the current welcome page and cannot be deleted." (using either browser or SharePoint Designer)

Default.aspx is fine, but I don't see where I can set that as the current welcome page.

How do I do that?

thx All.

If you have SharePoint Designer you can use that to change the default/start page.  You can do this by right clicking on the page and selecting "set as default"  I think.

Thanks Jerry, I tried that, setting default.aspx as the Home Page with Designer, but it didn't help. I still have a green checkmark next to the redirect page, and can't delete it.

Can you edit the content type so that it is not a "welcome page"? Perhaps you can delete it then.

hi there,

Thanks, tried that too, that didn't work.

BUT, figured it out! If you go web-based Site Settings under Site Administration, under Look and Feel, there's a setting for "Welcome Page", and you just enter what you want there....just changing to default.aspx and all set (with that former area anyway, a bit messy the Areas to Team Sites in my test upgrades thus far).

thanks all for your replies.
