A Light-Hearted Entry - Some of my Favourite Forum Responses

Posted Sun, Mar 14 2010 17:27 by Nate Oliver

I've been active in forums for almost a dozen years, or so. Not quite as long as some, but long enough to get a lot of interesting responses to technical questions. Today, we'll keep it light and look at a few, some of my favourites.

Here's one of my first favourite responses:

http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30774

"Where do I send the Christmas present? - Amazing - your macro worked perfectly - I am indebted - if you are ever in Australia and need somewhere to sleep/someone to show you around then I would be honoured - the finance team will be very impressed."

And a second:

"If I were to believe the picture, I would guess your to young for that beverage, but if I'm guessing right, I would say it's more along the line of a six pack and a couple of fine cigars. Is there a way to recognize you and/or anyone else on the board who goes out of their way to help us less fortunates? Thanks for all the help."

And for my very favourite:

"I want your babies."

I can only assume she means to create babies, versus taking pre-made babies and babysitting, or something?

I have fun working with people in the forums, and people for the most part seem to enjoy the interaction. That's not including the incredible response I received when I was given the Microsoft Excel MVP Award, which was overwhelming. It's been fun!

Tomorrow, we'll explore something more technical.

LOL.

I got this one just recently:

"I would gladly give you my first born child for your help.....but she has always cost too much."

If you're going to go down this road, I think you should just highlight some of the classics we've seen.

The Zoolander-turn-left comment springs instantly to mind for me :)
