1. Click START

3. Choose MANAGE

4. Click *** MANAGEMENT

5. Right click C: DRIVE (either in the Volume Column or the Graphic below the list) (This

must be the partition that contains the operating system.)

6. Choose MAKE PARTITION ACTIVE.

7. Close COMPUTER MANAGEMENT.

8. Happily create your disk image and wonder why this easy answer wasn't given on Microsoft's Help page.

If you do, you will want to adjust how it displays, etc. That is relatively easy to do. You do that in the Extras tabOk now you get a flash drive, at least 4 gigs and depending on what you actually have on your computer, you will want to copy all the programs you have under program files and all of your documents and all of your graphics and all of your music. You might need several of these drives. If you were a bit thoughtful, you might have downloaded all of your install programs to a folder . Those are pertinent if you ever want to reinstall and do not want to bother to download them again. Also some are not available all the time. Copy, using free commander the files you want to your flash drive, It is quick, you can right click on the listed files and Folders and they will be on your flash drive. I use the Copy command, not the move. move will take it off your c drive. You may want to set up a small organization chart first so you can organize this operation. If your Recovery part is useful to you. Keep it. If you do not know how to use it, well what good is it.It is supposedly a way to reinstall your C drive but I do not know if it keeps the data.

These types of laptops are known as “soft APs” and are created when a cracker runs some software that makes his/her wiselers network card look like a legitimate access point. Once the cracker has gained access, he/she can steal passwords, launch attacks on the wired network, or plant trojans. Since wiselers networks operate at the Layer 2 level, Layer 3 protections such as network authentication and virtual private networks (VPNs) offer no barrier. Wireless 802.1x authentications do help with protection but are still vulnerable to cracking. The idea behind this type of attack may not be to break into a VPN or other security measures. Most likely the cracker is just trying to take over the client at the Layer 2 level.
