If you want to install Windows Media Center for free into Windows 8 Pro, you have until January 31st, 2013 to get it..
Fill in your email address, type in the code and then wait. The key will be sent to you, but not immediately and maybe not for 48 hours even..

OK.. unlike previous Windows versions, you type this into a search
add features
and then follow the onscreen instructions, entering your new key code along the way.
Windows 8 then proceeds to install WMC and will reboot at the end of the process. The WMC icon is placed into the Windows 8 apps at the far right end.
Right click on it and pin it to the taskbar, and you are good to go.
If you are running Start8, you can unpin WMC from the taskbar AFTER running it at least once. This places the WMC icon n the recently used programs section, after which you can right click it again and pin it to the Start8 menu..
