If you bought a D-Link router because of its SharePort capability, until recently you would have been really disappointed.

Not a moment too soon, D-Link released a version of their SharePort software which actually works with printers.

SharePort is not a true network device. What it actually does is fool the computers into believing that the printer is directly connected to a USB port. Unfortunately, this means that only one computer can connect to a printer at any one time, but in a home scenario, would that be too much of a problem?

There is no doubt that it is a cheap solution, but cheap can work quite well.

You can find the software at most good D-Link router support websites.. :-)

Can you be more specific as to where to find the Dlink Dir655 SharePort software that works. The most current software from dlink does not work with my canon mp530 multifunction device using windows 7 64 bit.

Thank you very much
