What has happened to the concept of respecting your customers?

How do the CEO’s of major stores and direct sellers sleep at night knowing full well that their company has sold underpowered junk to ‘would be’ computer users who do not have $$$$$ to spend?

Any XP desktop with onboard video  or laptop having less than 512mb RAM installed should not have been allowed out of the production area or the front end of a store.

Exactly the same merchandising scam happened with Vista machines. For Vista to perform, it requires 2gb, especially on a machine which shares memory with the video card. The manufacturers, OEMs, stores, every computer technician, and every hobbyist know this. The only people in the dark are Mr and Mrs Beginner-Average and family.

Microsoft were partly to blame by setting completely unrealistic minimum requirements, but mostly to blame are the scammers which then take advantage of the minimum requirement and then knowingly hustle the end user out of $400 or so for a piece of junk that can hardly boot itself, let alone run any application on top of Windows. Running one of these underpowered ‘things’ is like watching slow scan TV.

It would not cost very much at all to install a decent amount of memory into new machines.

I am tired of having to explain to clients that they were hustled big time when they handed their money over to whoever sold them their computer.

To the manufacturers, OEMs and stores:

Quit it NOW. Find a supplier of integrity and buy as much as you can. Distribute it evenly throughout all departments. Do not pass the cost on to the end customer. Integrity on your part should be free to all customers.
