  • A message to all who view this blog:

I have been looking at viewing stats for the entries I make, and can see that the graph looks similar to the side elevation of a mountain range. Some topics are way more popular than others, but I am not running a popularity contest here.

My main aim is appeal to a wide experience/knowledge base. I cannot, therefore, apologise if each or any of the entries do not appeal to you.

If you have an issue, complaint, or would just like to make a general comment, please feel free to contact me.

I set this blog up, not to be the definitive guide to anything, but more from the view of a typical user. I come from a hardware background in my former paid employment, and have always had an interest in anything electronic. Of course, one has to know how the hardware interacts with the operating system and production/fun software.

So I bring you what you see here, ramblings and stuff, nothing too intense I hope, and not too prolific either. My wish is for computers users to get the most from their systems, especially the average home user who does not always have the faith, courage, and technical 'know how'.

The one area where we are all at risk is the internet. Apart from the huge amount of mis-information which abounds, there is also the constant threat of virus and spyware/malware infestation. I e-mail all of my local customers regarding the 'latest' threat on the ground but, for the purposes of making as many aware as possible, I will provide a link here to the blog of an MVP colleague who specialises in this field. You might want to bookmark it.
