Skype Conflicts with IIS

I installed IIS on my Windows XP Professional laptop this morning to begin code development for an upcoming project and received the error message “Unexpected error 0x8ffe2740 occurred” when I attempted to start the web services. After looking up the error code, I found KB article 816944 that states this is due to a conflict on the default web server port 80. After thinking for a moment, I recalled that Skype allows for making connections over port 80 as a fallback to the default port of 47781. Unckecking the option to use port 80 and restarting Skype fixed the IIS error when starting the web services.

So, now Skype has conflicted with Total Recorder and IIS. What next? Perhaps this application wasn't worthy of it's Top 5 award.

Just googled "Skype conflict IIS" and got your page. Had exactly the same problem - went through exactly the same process though I spotted Skype using TCPView. Pity they haven't sorted out this obvious problem in later versions.
