Resourcefulness is the great divider between excellence and mediocrity.

Collective Changes in the Works
Well, after holding the Principal Consultant title within the Collective Technologies organization for the past six months, I will now be the Practice Technical Manager for the Microsoft Management technologies; including SMS, MOM and W(S)US.  This new position, reporting to the VP of Windows Infrastructure Services, will allow for greater accountability in the building of this practice and provide a management layer to the consultants working with these technologies that actually has a technical background in supporting them. I'm very excited about this portion of the company's reorg and look forward to helping Collective become Microsoft's 'go to' partner for systems management consulting.
User Group Presentations Well Received

I'm very pleased to announce that our recent SMS User Group presentations in Kansas City and St. Louis were very well received. The topic presented was “SMS 2003 Deployments: Lessons from the Field”.  Here's what some said about the presentations:

“[Larry Duncan] did an outstanding job and I would highly recommend other user groups take advantage of his expertise.“
Janis Keim, KS City Regional SMS Users Group

“Larry was great at prodding the attendees to think about a lot of different issues and how they might effect their environments.   He spoke about a lot of "gotchas" that will save a lot of organizations a lot of aggravation.  He was also quick to speak the praises of the newsgroup community and the help that we all can be to each other. If you can get Larry to speak at your group meeting, do it.“
Greg Heuing, Enterprise Rent-a-Car

I have rec'd more compliments on your presentation than the entire time we have been meeting as a group.  Hands-down this was the best presentation we have ever had.
Julie Bailey, St. Louis SMS Users Group
