But at this point I don't remember what that resolution was. My W2012 test environment does seem to be working well. I'm using it with the hands on labs in the CRM Dev Training Kit.

Even after enabling WIF I wasn't able to get past the "cannot connect" error when trying to access any CRM Online organization. Only after I changed the Windows Live ID (nowadays known as Microsoft account) of the local user to match the CRM user was I able to connect Outlook to CRM.
I can open the Config Wizard and the details I've manually typed are there, but if I edit the server I get the usual cannot connect to server error on opening the edit dialog. If I retype the url and test I just get the same error.

I wondered whether looking at your config would help. I've tried all sorts to solve this. I can't believe I'm the only one in the world with this problem but none of the MS blogs has an answer. I've added the HomeRealmUrl reg key as suggested in the MS implementation guide, and tried every possible combination of server address. I'm totally stumped and pretty desperate.

Many thanks if you can help.
