You could even use certificates for authentication and bypass all user interaction altogether. The icons looks the same, the shortcut is in the same place, and all they see is the app window. It's a beautiful thing to see in action.

It's going to help make several server based LOB applications much more secure and easy to use in the end.

You could use the START /WAIT, or the CALL function as these will both make the calling batch file wait for the called batch to complete. My understanding is that CALL should only be used for other batch files but, it has worked for other executables in my experience. And the START function actuall starts the process in a new window, so I generally use the START /MIN so as to start the new window minimized.

call /?

Calls one batch program from another.

CALL [drive:][path]filename [batch-parameters]

START /?

Starts a separate window to run a specified program or command.

START ["title"] [/Dpath] [/I] [/MIN] [/MAX] [/SEPARATE | /SHARED]

I have tried everything I could find to eliminate the issue with no success.

I finally uninstalled the Bytemoble Acceleration client for my ATT laptop connect card and the problem is GONE!!!!

Thank God.

If you have an ATT card, go to the Tools tab, settings, accelerration and select uninstall. Reboot and the error is gone.

Hope this helps someone out.
