ok i really need help please

there are two accounts on my computer the administrator and the limited account i am the administrator and have forgotton my password i never made a reset password disk so i cant use that so i am using the limited account and i have been trying to figure out a way to get back on to my account but havent found a way

    I have only one admin acct in my sys and thats me and I cant remember my psw and I dont have any xp cd or anything this is the situation Im facing now, how to change the psw reply plz...

if you are useing a limertid account your can boot in safe mode and then u can remove the admin password

ok i already change administrator password in limited account...

you don't need to format and loose your programs and files... its to simple if you know how to repair windows xp... that is a hint for you all guys...

I have accidently deleted a file called "SYSTEM" in the folder "config" in "system32" and so when I turn on my computer it advises me to do a repair.  So I put in my XP CD and it goes through all the things but 99% of the time a blue screen appears when the options to start installion and repair etc. On the blue screen appears a messge saying something along he lines of "A problem has occured, windows has prevented this action blah blah to prevent any damage to your computer". However sometimes the menu does come up. So I press "r" (repair) and then it asks for the administrator password. I enter my user password and that does not work. I thought I AM the admin because on my user is the option to create other users and change users passwords. However then I discovered safe mode. On the safe mode login screen is administrator and my user. I  don't need to enter a password to access the administraor user! So to be honest, I don't think I have an administrator password, but it requires a password to continue with the repair! I am very confused and annoyed! Please help me!

I've been going through the internet searching for ways to either hack, or change the password of the Local Administrative Account, through a Limited Account, I've been locked out of my Administrator account because I changed the password the night before & I was just wiped out, so I woke up the next morning & I literally forgot the password. The program I have running is Windows XP. I've tried the following procedure:

Click 'run'

Type 'cmd' or 'command prompt'

Type 'net user'

Type 'net user administrator *'

Here's where the problem comes into play, as soon as I type that into the prompt, 'type a password for the user'

I attempt to type a new password but the prompt would not let me type anything, even numbers, I don't get any error messages, but I simply can't change the password. The only button that would work is 'enter'

I hit that three times and I get 'Access Denied'

What am I to do? I would appreciate any help on this matter.

Keep in mind, I've also tried to gain access to Administrative privledges through the Limited Account, yet I would receive an error message, I've tried this process multiple times just to make sure I typed everything according to the forums I visited but to no avail.

When you do that in the command promt, and they asked u to type a new password and nothing comes out its cause it is like that.

the words are there just that u cant see them.

just type the damn password and press enter, confirm it and press enter, your password will never be visible on the command promt, not even in *

Also u have to see if your password has any restrictions to it, like more than 6 words or special characters, be sure to type a suitable password if not u will just get access denied.

i've tried many methods of changing the admin password through a limited account, likr- 'net users', 'change userpasswords2', & even through 'system32' but have failed to do so. plz do help!

I have been given a Dell Laptop with Administor and guest log in. Owner forgot Admin p/w and I need to change some info.  How can I change to Administors pw
