It seems that Microsoft has started flagged Gmail as a virus in their virus scanning software Windows Live OneCare. Many people are reporting that every time they open Gmail, a warning is displayed telling the user they are infected with "BAT/BWG.A". Now, either Gmail is a virus, or Microsoft is generating false positives. Some affected by this "virus" say other anti-virus products do not pick up the infection -- to me, this is a bit suspicious.So who should be responsible for fixing the problem? Either Google can wait for Microsoft to update their virus definitions (I dont know how often that happens, or if this will be fixed when it does), or they can identify what is ...

New Microsoft Office Online Website Now Online

Ja, az offline oldalak meg a tesztelés alatt online működnek, mi?

Andre tells us that Microsoft just went live with the new Microsoft Office Online website - which I blogged about earlier this month when it was still in beta.
Check out the new Office Online here.
I love how they adopted the “ribbon” look and feel on the website. Navigating Office Live, in my opinion, is much better and it doesn’t look so cluttered with information over-load.
The new Office Online website also offers a “tab” for Office Live which will leave beta on November 15th!

Internet Explorer 7 Final Released Today

Ezt nevezik informatikai röhejnek:

Microsoft will release the final build of IE7 today to customers, with the company expected to push the build by automatic updates on 1st November.
At the moment there is no link on Microsoft.com, but Yahoo has the final build bundled with Yahoo Mail. All you need to do is download the Yahoo edition and use WinRAR to extract the files and run IE7-Setup.exe (click for diagram).

Erre még egy lapáttal rátesznek a microsoft.beta.longhorn.ie_on_xpsp2 newsgroup-on, ahol a béta tesztelők ezt ajánlgatják. Sőt az msmvps.com egyik blogján is!

Egyébként már számos torrent és egyéb letöltési hely is említésre került a neowin fórumain. Csak a hivatalos MS oldalakon nincs hír.

P.S.: 2006.10.19. 0:50-kor lett MS hír is.

Az alkalmazás lehetőségei:

keresés előadóra
saját és közös playlist-ek összeállítása és használata
a blogmusik keresésének beillesztése FireFox kereső ablakába
mp3 számok közössé tétele

Működése, ahogy látom:

a közössé tett számok egy p2p hálózatba kerülnek
kiválasztás az így összeállt hálózatból történik
a lejátszás a saját gépen állítja össze a stream-et, ezt játssza le egy flash

Fenti technológiából következik, hogy elég jó a minőség (ugyanaz, mint az eredeti mp3 file-é).

Számomra kérdéses a módszer legalitása.

Egy blogban hivatkoznak erre a forrásra: Kevin Mitnick creampied by Pakistani rage.

A group of Pakistani crackers vandalized today the websites of 4 different Kevin Mitnick's ventures, in what it looks like to be a focused personal attack. The sites defensivethinking.com, mitsec.com, kevinmitnick.com and mitnicksecurity.com have been defaced with offensive messages against his person.

A konkrét linkeket én jelöltem be az eredeti szövegbe azért, hogy mindenki megnézhesse, mivel is foglalkozik jelenleg az "infamous cracker"-nek titulált zseni.

A hivatkozott blogból:

"It is kind of stupid, they do it for the attention," Mitnick said. "When I was a hacker, I never stooped to defacing sites because that was more like vandalism, that wasn't any fun. It is more about getting in and being stealth and looking around and exploring."
