A few weeks ago my wife complained that her Vista desktop was not responding to her typing or mouse clicks. Given the importance of the customer, I immediately sat down at the system to troubleshoot. It wasn’t completely hung, but extremely sluggish. For example, the mouse moved and when I clicked on the start button the start menu opened after about 30 seconds. I suspected that something was hogging the CPU and likely could have resolved the problem simply by logging off or rebooting, but knew that if I didn’t determine the root cause and address it, she’d likely be calling on my technical support services again in the near future. In any case, stooping to that kind of troubleshooting hack is beneath my dignity. I therefore set out to investigate.
My first step was to run Process Explorer to see which process was using the CPU.

Ugyanígy fordult elő családunkban is augusztus elsején. Nem akkor értem haza, mikorra mondtam. Feleség megkérdezte:

Since manually scanning USB flash drive is troublesome, I found a way to automatically scan the USB flash drive whenever it is inserted or plugged in to a Windows computer.
USBVirusScan is a small program that will launch any program you provide as a command line parameter each time a USB stick is inserted. The author use it to start a full virus scan on the inserted USB drive, hence the name.

Ez az ok, amiért érdemes egy bulvár portál bulvármellékletét elolvasni. Jól meggondolva a szerző valódi újságíró, ragyogó informátor.

A Bartók-rend röviden szólva a Bartók Béla által elindított, részben általa, részben munkatársai által gyűjtött, katalogizált népzenei felvételeket jelenti. Az MTA Zenetudományi Intézetének oldalán az egész megtalálható az interneten itt, alapos bevezetővel, magyarázattal, kereshető adatbázissal. A megtekinthető sokféle adat és kottakép mellett gyakran van meghallgatható a felvétel is, bár sajnos nem látható előre, hogy hol. De vannak már az 1896-os gyűjtésből is meghallgatható mp3-mak, például az elejéről a Bartók A 0007(2) jelzetű (mp3) és a Bartók A 0020 jelzetű (mp3) is. Egy kicsit később készült, mint 1860, de a miénk - ráadásul felismerhetően zene, tényleg, szemben azzal a kicsit régebbivel. Egyébként Kallós Zoltán gyűjtései is meghallgathatók itt. Például a csingerálás.

Öreg vizslám - Pepe - ma előkaparta a gyerekek által 30 éve talált kurblit a régi homkozójuk területén. Nyilván jól elrejtették. Ugyanakkor meglett a feleségnek 1977-ben ajándékozott "műgyémánt" (köbös bórnitrid) bázisú körömreszelő is.

Nagy ajándék nekem. Az újjászületés kezedete lehet. Minden esetre ráhajtok.

So what can you do to proactively prevent a client's workstation to be turned into a spam spewing beast?
Les Connor and ISA Server 2004 once again to the rescue:
He builds a rule to deny any port 25 transmissions from anything other than the server itself and an internal scanner.
Action: Deny, log requests
Protocols: Selected : SMTP
From: The lan (defined IP address range)
Exceptions: SBS, Printer and Scanner IP's, which are defined specific IP
addresses.
To: Anywhere (pre-existing destination)
Users: All
Schedule: Always

Caveat, this blocks the use of telnet <external host> 25 from any local
machine for troubleshooting purposes, so beware of this if you use it on
your *own* network for testing SMTP.
You might also want to build an alert rule when this deny rule kicks in as it would be a sign of infestation.
