The Blog
I'm using VS2005 and my project is a Web Project. I don't have "Properties" at the project level (only solution level), but instead have "Property Pages". In Property Pages, under start options, is a Debuggers list with ASP.NET, Native code, and SQL Server checkboxes. Playing with these had no effect on the error.
I'm not sure if these checkboxes do the same thing as the ones you are referring to. Also, I'm not yet running SP1 since I'm still looking into all of the changes it brings.
You will also get this error if you are working in a Web project. If you disable the Web site from being compiled you can get past this error.

Thank you very much for this message. i got this error message, too. i read your blog and it works now!! thx
How can i give UltraCombo a look same as UltraComboEditor? I have set row.Appearance.BackColor on UltraCombo's MouseEnterElement & MouseLeaveElement events, but i want the same highlight (golden) color while hot-tracking the items in UltraCombo which is in UltraComboEditor. Can you please give me that color code & also how can i set that selected item border rounded?
I tried this it was not successful
I did a backup to a usb drive, reinstalled vista an it says there is no backup on this computer even though it sees the drive. How can i restore files?
After applying those solution to get rid of error 2869
I have an error like this:
"Error 1001: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. --> Could not load file or assembly 'ExecutionEngine, Version=3.0 ... etc The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application.."
How can I fix this error?
I used this information to help cure the same problem on my Vista system, and would like to add that I suspect another issue contributes to the same problem: I continued to have intermittent difficulties with the same error on a removeable USB Drive, and have since disable disk cascheing in computer mangement, by selecting "Optimize for quick removal", rather than "Optimize for performance". I suspect that the disk cascheing does not work well with the large files in the disk images.
I would also like to recommend an outstanding disk imaging program that is easy to use, inexpensive and versatile. Macrium Reflect. Go to www.Macrium.com for info or a free trial.

Hello Kevin,
I came across your blog and noticed that we have the same last name. That doesn't happen too often with "McNeish". I'm on Facebook too at www.facebook.com/profile.php
Take care, Don
