I haven't really been following what's been happening with Vista - other than the headlines I've been reading over at DIGG. When I saw this headline, however, I had to come and take a look.
This sounds like a great feature. The whole "no moving parts" aspect of the flash memory system almost guarantees faster access speeds.
You did a good job at explaining this feature - well done.

Now, I'm wondering if it'll be possible to use a USB flash drive as a scratch disc for Photoshop - it'd sure speed up some of those more elaborate filters.

Just what I needed. Thanks for the post.
I shall fix this by creating the image list on form load as you suggest. A cracking plan.
So, yet ANOTHER visual studio 2003 issue that needs special treatment (I will not even start ranting on user controls in the context of multiple assemblies and grown up namespaces! ;)).
Maybe when I'm brave enough to "switch" to 2005 the world will be a better place... just maybe...
