Tonight in Oklahoma City.......
Our group hosted Chris Kinsman at our lunch and evening meetings. Thanks INETA!!!
Chris spoke about “Using Enterprise Library with ASP.NET“. Not only did he show the new application blocks from Microsoft, but he took the time to explain their evolution from the the PABs that people have used in the past. While I have briefly looked over the Enterprise Library and I have read some articles is MSDN on the blocks, I did not realize that these were more than a continuation of the existing base. Ron Jacob's group at Microsoft has put some excellent thought into the process. If you want more info go to the source at the Patterns and Practices site. Another option is to attend your own local .NET User Group, they often can get copies of these for you.
To keep with the theme, on August 24th, OKC will host none other than Mr. Ron Jacob's himself.
I must also pass congratulations to Brian Moore with Microsoft. Brian Moore has been an exceptional Developer Evangelist in the South Central District for many years. Oklahoma City has considered him a friend and an invaluable resource. Today Brian has taken the role of Technical Specialist reporting in Dallas, TX. We wish him only the best and look forward to seeing him up here again soon.
