Windows Live Mail (Beta)

Yes, it's here. And it really looks good! The new Windows Live Mail is available for download. The announcement is at the team's blog: Windows Live Mail. Somehow the link in their blog post leads you to the wrong web site and the download link is very difficult to find. Me, myself and I had to go to the newsgroup to get the correct download link: http://g.live.com/1rebeta/WLM_en-us, which will give you the latest build: "Build #: 12.0.1184.0517", or short: 1184. Current languages supported are: English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Chinese.

As soon as you install it, the program transfers the accounts and messages from Windows Mail (in Vista) to Windows Live Mail. That includes the newsgroups. So, if you have some newsgroups with a lot of messages then it may take a while. Apart from email and newsgroups it also gives you RSS feeds. You can check your Hotmail account, other accounts and your contacts are imported from your Hotmail/Live account too.

Remember, it's still Beta software so it's at your own risk
