MOM 2005 Resource Kit - Resultant Set of Rules Tool

The documentation for this tool leaves out one very important bit of information --- the location of the output from the command.

The output from this command is stored in C:\ResultantSetOfRules.  The command creates a log file named

“AGENT RSOR YYYY-MM-DD  HHMMSS.log”  ex: “SQLSRV1 RSOR 2004-10-19 160000.log”

Operator Console View Calendar

In the MOM 2005 Operator Console views, the View Toolbar has a Calendar icon.  This tool allows you to set the Date and Time Filter.  It defaults to 7 days.

I noticed a computer had a warning status in the State view, but did not see an alert for the computer.  Once I changed the date filter to 20 days....The alert showed up.

Just something to remember...

MOM 2005 Resource Kit

The MOM 2005 Resource Kit was released last Thursday: http://www.microsoft.com/mom/downloads/2005/reskit/default.mspx

Make sure you check out the Operators Console Notifier.  This tool pops up the status of your agents whenever it changes.  The shortcut for this program is placed in the MOM 2005 group after you install it using the MSI.
