This rebuilt a database using a CD containing pricing data compiled and distributed by yet another government agency. We had over 120 production sites world wide. We had so many problems reading that CD that we put a lot of upfront validation steps to get the data loaded into the file system and verified before actually using the data.

BTW, I thought the proper way to clean a CD was from the center out and never in circles.
