VMware to acquire Thinstall

On January 15, 2008, VMware, Inc. announced plans to acquire Thinstall.

VMware is well known for its operating system virtualization products, both for desktops (VMware Workstation) and for servers.

Thinstall Virtualization suite is an application virtualization solution which is unique because it doesn't require a server or an agent installation on the client. Therefore it can also be used by ISVs as an alternative to setup programs.

I wonder why VMware didn't buy Endeavors Technologies?

Endeavors is owned by Tadpole Technology which is has around 40000 private investors and as most or many have seen the share price decline as the IT industry wasn't ready for it and as all/most companies in the virtualisation business have to use/get permit to use patents held by Endeavours, it would very difficult or downright impossible for the board to get an acceptable offer to the satisfaction of the shareholders - for now anyway.
