SQL Down Under Code Camp #1 done and #2 on the way !

Thanks to all that participated in our weekend of all things SQL Server. In particular I need to thank the other speakers (in order of appearance :-) :

Adam Cogan, Grant Paisley, Geoff Orr, Peter Myers, Darren Gosbell, Greg Linwood, Rob Farley, Itzik Ben-Gan, Peter Ward, Trevor Andrew.

I ended up being the last one and we were done pretty much right on time around 3pm Sunday.

I always felt there was enough interest in SQL Server related topics to justify a full weekend CodeCamp on it and was really pleased with the outcome. We nearly left it to next year as this year's dates were fairly short notice for attendees but thought it was worth trying anyway. If 60 or 70 had come, I would have been pleased. We ended up with 118 registering and the high-water mark seemed to be about 118 attendees. That's very pleasing.

Special thanks again to Irfan Altas and the gang at Charles Sturt University in Wagga, to the folk in Frank's team at Microsoft that help make it all possible, to Itzik Ben-Gan for being our special guest and to Glenn Johnston and Peter Ward and my colleagues at Readify and PASS that helped in many ways.

We've now set the dates for SQL Down Under Code Camp 2007. It's October 13th and 14th 2007 in the same location.

First, our fine feathered friend who's now attended two CodeCamps. Cleverest bird around!
